HELP! I'm a big Mets fan and a UCONN WCBB fan. I live in Stamford CT (home of a UCONN satellite campus). I moved downtown a year ago and finally ditched cable. I have an LG smart tv and now get my internet via Frontier fiber 500 and stream my tv via YouTube TV. I also stream Amazon Prime and Peacock. Via YouTubeTV I get Fox, FS1 and FS2.

Will I be able to watch SNY on my tv via this this Fox app? I'm not very tech savvy. How do I go about this? Please be specific.

As an alternative, does anyone have Hulu? Do they have SNY and do they also have TCM (I absolutely need both of these channels).

Also does SNY provide its own streaming subscription , if so, how much does it cost?
You're going to have to switch to HULU live tv, Direct TV streming or Fubo to have SNY. HULU live is the best deal as it includes Disney and ESPN+. I fthere are other sports you like to watch then you should get Fubo as they are centnered around sports.

Thanks Centerstream---But here's what confuses me. You're saying that I can download the Fox Sports App and log in by giving the credentials of a TV provider (YouTubeTV), which has just dropped SNY? Doesn't make sense to me. In the past, when I had Optimum Cable and did something similar, it only worked if Optimum carried the channel I was trying to access. This usually happened when I was trying to watch something on another device, like my phone, when I was home.
When you use the FoxSports app, you are not using SNY. You are seeing a livestream of the SNY broadcast that is being provided by Fox Sports as a "courtesy" to out of market UConn WBB fans.
Just try the app out now and you should be able to see whatever is currently on the tv broadcast Fox Sports networks.
It is 8:40PM (ET) now and using the app, WWE Smackdown is on my local Fox station, NASCAR Truck Series is on FS1, the USFL is on FS2. But these are livestreams of what is being broadcast on my tv provider.

This is how it works for me in SC as well. Sometimes the game is broadcast on the FOXNOW app as well, so make sure you downloaded that one also. Same process as Centerstream described.

I have XFINITY and I have YES and SNY!
Also ACC, SEC, B1G, PAC-12!
After opening cheaper cost 3rd and 4th year gets more expensive! But I get a lot of channels that show WNBA games also!
Check it out!
I dropped DIRECTV when AT&T bought them!

Xfinity isn't wired for my address.

This is likely just a negotiating tactic because SNY is looking for more money. At least I hope so. Changing providers isn't too difficult.

Not meaning to scare anyone but the Foxsports ap blacks out areas served by SNY, so UConn fans across the state will have to drop Youtubetv, at least during UConn's season.

That’s what Yankee and Red Sox fans 2 years ago when YouTube TV dropped YES and NESN. I’ll be surprised if SNY comes back

I worked in the racing business and we simulcasted horse races under contract with 40 or 50 venues. At least twice a year we would have to announce the possible loss of some track or another due to contract disputes. Almost every time it was resolved and in the few cases it wasn't the issue was resolved in a couple of days. In any case I'll do whatever I have to to watch the games.

Right now it's Mets fans who are screaming.

I'm guessing that SNY doesn't livestream to in market fans unless the fans actually are subscribers.

It’s actually your internet provider or cable co. That gets you the app.
Right. If you don't subscribe to a channel (eg, Fox Sports) somewhere, you won't be permitted to have access to a channel streaming separately (eg, Fox Sports). I only subscribe to YouTubeTv for this purpose. I actually watch more of regular YouTube than the Tv version.

Presumably they have Analytics on the number of SNY viewers on their platform and I assume have concluded there aren't enough to justify the current carriage costs. We're at the high water mark for sports media right deals for anything approximating a linear platform - witness all of the Bally's regional sports network bankruptcies and the Pac-12's challenges getting a new primary media rights deal with the traditional networks. Cord cutting is real, and streaming doesn't generate nearly enough revenue to make up for it.

The sports media rights money spigget is going to be drying up for a lot of tier 2 rights going forward...
Absolutely..... and this is one of the headwinds that's leading to the breakup of the Pac-12.

It's been several years since I've been able to watch UCONN WCBB - I have no interest in buying a "package" (ie.some sports channel) because I would only watch UCONN WCBB. I would (assuming a "reasonable" price) definitely purchase a UCONN WCBB package. FWIW: I currently subscribe to NHRA.TV (Drag Racing_ - Live coverage of every national event from open qualifications to track closure (aveage 12 hours live Friday, 12 hours Saturday, and 8 hours Sunday race day). The package has evolved to give access to hours of achival footage as well as Divisional Event coverage. Cost $150./ season.

If you live in SNY's market area then you won't be able to access the game on a fox ap. That's what ESPN does when they stream a Yankee game on ESPN+. Living in Yes's market area I am blacked out of ESPN+'s stream.

It's a long way off and I'll worry in October.

I recently signed up for YouTubeTV because of NFL Sunday Ticket. In general I like it so far, but unfortunately I'm discovering that its regional sports coverage is full of holes and apparently getting worse. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to watch Connecticut Sun games, which are primarily on NBC Sports Boston. Every time I do a general internet search, I'm told YouTubeTV includes NBC Sports Boston, but it's nowhere to be found in my YouTubeTV channel lineup (I live in Bristol). The Basic plan description even refers to NBC Sports, but it's not actually there. Is anyone else able to get this channel on YouTubeTV?

NBC Sports Boston is available. I am in Farmington. My guess is it isn't checked in your channel list. To fix it, you have to log into the YTTV app on your phone. Hit the "Live" icon in the lower right hand corner then click "SORT" in the upper right of the TV image. You can then create a custom channel list by checking or unchecking channels, then you can order them any way you want.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I know how to use the custom channel list and see the full list of channels available. After investigating a lot more, I've now figured out that NBC Sports Boston is available on YouTubeTV throughout most of Hartford County, including Farmington, Avon, New Britain and Burlington. However, it's not available for some reason in Bristol, Plainville or Southington. I know this because I verified a bunch of channel lineups by typing in the ZIP codes for each town on the appropriate YouTubeTV webpage. My ZIP is 06010 if you want to check yourself.

The blackout related to NBC Sports Boston is sitll being applied to me, even though I don't have access to the channel itself on YouTubeTV. I spent a good hour contacting YouTubeTV today via online chat to ask about it. I'm not sure they understood what I was explaining to them, but I'm hoping they pass along my messages to someone who gets it. I feel like this is an oversight - we should probably have access, since legally the blackout policy affects all of Hartford County and there's no way around it. I can't watch live Sun games being simultaneously telecast on ESPN, NBA TV, etc., and presumably the WNBA access package as well.

Man, they seem to find any way to take RSNs away from people. I am on the Bristol side of Farmington too, only a stone's throw from Route 6. I've watched bits and pieces of Sun games, but I can't recall what channel. I'll make a point to see if NBC SB is blacking them out in my area.

As long as you have a Farmington ZIP code, you should be fine. I think at this point they know where a person's home IP address is, and they determine channel lineup based on that. I do wonder what would happen if I stopped by my cousin's condo in Farmington Chase and tried to watch it on my laptop there. Maybe it would work (not that it's a practical work-around).

I live in Cromwell, have YouTubeTV and last nights Sun/Liberty game was recorded by NBC Sports Boston. So, it seems I am still getting that station.

I just checked the channel line-up for Hulu+live and it did not show SNY. I hope I am mistaken because I don't want to go back to cable.

I just got this reply from YouTubeTV:

"As promised, I am sending this email as your reference for your inquiry. After reviewing this with our specialists, I can confirm that with Regional Sports Network, you really won't be able to see your local games due to broadcasting rights access in the area. This is working as intended.

We know how important this is for you so we'll be glad to pass along your feedback to our engineers and product team. Let us know if you have further inquiries and I'll be happy to help."

So, the intent is literally to prevent resident of a few towns in Hartford County from being able to see live Sun games that are on NBC Sports Boston, while pretty much everyone else in the state has a path to see them live (either through the channel itself, or being able to watch live on WNBA League Pass because the blackout is waived for Fairfield County/New Haven/Waterbury ZIP codes.) Well, that's where I get off the bus. I'm not following a team I can't watch most of the time, and who couldn't be bothered to make sure its games were generally televised everywhere in the state. Leaving out over 100,000 people in Bristol, Southington and Plainville is not okay, and there are probably other scattered towns who are being left out as well.

I get FOX, FS1 and FS2 through my DISH subscription. So when I sign in at the beginning of the UConn Women's Basketball season I have to use a code that is provided by DISH and I'm good to watch the women's game on SNY via Fox Sports. The only bad thing about this is I don't get the pregame or postgame broadcast, but I at least get to watch the game live.

As for the replay question from @ABCDFE, I was able to watch the game for a couple of days after if I had missed the game live on the Fox Sports app. You can also watch replays of the game via @MJL243 You Tube channel which is usually posted within 24 hours of the games completion.
I just upgraded my dish to get FS2, so how do I get the code to be able to watch the games. And do you get all the games. A little help would be appreciated. Thanks.

At the beginning of the season when SNY covers their first game you will need to sign in with a code given to you by your provider. What you will need to do is go to the Fox Sports app, look for the game that is being televised and click on it. If I remember correctly they will ask for authentication from your cable/sat provider, you click on their icon, sign in, then they will provide a code to enter in their authentication request. Once you do that, you are able to watch all of the games that SNY televise, without having to sign in.

I researched Hulu Live earlier in the week when I heard of YouTubeTV dropping SNY. I might depend on your zip code but using my Groton CT zip code Hulu Live does carry SNY and it's $69.99/month, similar to what I was paying for YoutubeTV. Unfortunately, Hulu Live does not carry NESN, so a no go if you like to watch, still long, boring Red Sox games (and I'm a Sox fan:)
