Those are the right shots to take. The offense is designed to get him open looks from those spots, and he's right to shoot it when there's no close-out. Sometimes they just don't go in.

I'd rather see him take the right shot and miss than over-penetrate and get stuffed at the rim.

Me too, a little bit. But there are at least 4, probably 5 guys ahead of him in this year's draft, while next year is thin at PG. He could legit be the first one off the board next summer if he keeps progressing as he has.

We're getting way ahead of things of course, but given his shooting, vision & physical profile, the sky's the limit.

Also needs to be said that Vital has potential to end up in the pantheon of great defensive guards for us. He's not going to be Ricky or Boat in terms of lockdown 1v1 defense, but he's the best I've seen off the ball this decade. Kid understands the game at a high level.
