Calhoun would have sensed the game going the other way and called a timeout so he could regroup the troops and... ring in the officials(which he never gets as much credit as he deserves for doing) and stop any Temple momentum before it ever started. That's the difference between Hall of Famers and guys still earning their wings.

UConn had one timeout left. He burned 2 already. One because the team was spent and playing stupid at around 10 minutes, another around 4.

It's on both. Can't ignore that we run a weave or pass the ball around the perimeter until there are 6 seconds or less on the shot clock repeatedly down the stretch of close games, time after time. The players lack initiative in these situations but it's on Ollie to run some plays to get easier looks earlier in the shot clock.

Calhoun had 5 timeouts to play with. Ollie only has 4 this year. It makes a big difference.

This is not on Ollie at all. Brimah forgetting how to catch a ball paired with d ham showing zero energy in the last 5 min is what cost us this game
I don't care if jalen shiv'd someone at halftime. There's no reason he shouldn't have played until the very end. KO tried to send Adams a message and the cost of that message was a win.

Ollie should know enough to go 2 for 1 when you get the ball back with 40 seconds left. Instead, his coaching led to mindless, purposeless dribbling and passing with no thought of clock management or attacking the basket. The impression one gets is that the team never ever practices for late game situations.

No it wasn't. Much it was on to go around.

How bout RP's 2 missed bunnies.
Brimahs missed handled missed dunk opportunity.
Dhams poor shot selection. Takes poor 3.
Dhams turning his head leaving a 3 pt shooter open. Not closing out many times.
Dhams turnover at the end.
Gibbs pounding the ball and being so slow that he has to use his hands to get around his defender.
Miller not closing out of his man for 3s.

No one rebounding and all getting bullied.
KO didn't suite up. He called many timeouts. This team is mentally weak. That's a fact! KO was emotionally invested in this game. I've got on him before. But he can't be responsible for that!

Its a team loss. They have not learned how to play together and its getting late. Some of that is on coach and on the players. There appears no unity or togetherness.

The only chemistry late in the season is DHam and Brimah.

Not all of it. We can't be blind to the fact we have crappy inbounds plays, we get nothing of note coming out of critical TO's and we didn't note the best FT shooter was wide open not he inbounds. That my friends is on the coaching and no one is free from this loss, no one on that bench.

id love to know why he thought it was a good idea to leave Jalen on the bench the ENTIRE second half and then bring him in with 2 minutes left

Here's the deal, if he was teaching him a lesson of some sort then keep him out. You cannot expect a kid who was belittled to come in with 3 plus minutes left to be aggressive at all. If he was teaching him something, he lost the game due to his own ignorance.

yup with 20 seconds left down 1 we had a foul to give and made no effort TWICE in a row to stop decosy from making a simple cut to the ball before conceding the foul. pathetic

Anyone blaming the players mistakes, that's going to happen. That's basketball. It's inevitable. Players miss shots, players turn the ball over.

Was there some ridiculous mistakes by us in this one? Yes.

But if you have a keen eye for bball, you know Ollie's coaching is playing a huge role in some of these close losses.

Kevin Ollie's in game coaching is a major concern...

People who say, "It's not Ollie! He won us a national championship" have a lot to learn. I am amazed at how little he adjusts. This is getting bad

I think he adjusts but the players are incapable of executing. You think in the last two minutes he wrote up a play for Gibbs to over dribble, run down the clock and then get a shot clock violation when he had no where to go? Or maybe he planned to in bound the call to purvis and have him double dribble. How about dham getting the pass in the post and turning it over. That is called poor execution. These are or best players too. There isn't anyone else to go to!

Nolan's alone under the basket miss when Purvis missed
