If you stop the clock immediately after they stopped playing HS ball it isn't close (Bobby V was a three time first team all state, Steve Young was a pretty good option QB on a team that was a couple years away from being great).

I'd guess that there are a few who (HS alone) can be considered the best ever in CT but Bobby has to be part of that conversation.

You are correct - BV is the only three-time All-State football player in Connecticut history.

I played back then, trust me if you were good enough they moved you from the freshman team to the Varsity. Played for Warde in Fairfield. I could be wrong, only way to check would be the CT HS record book. It's possible he didn't make first team his freshman year.

Wilder is 25-20 since end of 2012 season. It is probably a realistic choice...but that record is not exactly killing it down at Old Dominion. His only other coaching experience is with Maine for god sakes

Remember ODU started 1A football almost from scratch. That's a good record to have for the competition ODU plays.

I guess compare to the stellar record we have seen from Uconn lately... 25-20 would appear to be a step up. This guy built a team from scratch. Moved it to FBS and is above 500. He is a northeast guy...(god for sakes Maine!). He was a QB and works with the offense. I also assume this would be a step up not down for him. OD is also selling out the stadium, I know it is only 20K but I know the Rent is not seeing those types of crowds now.
