Brew is probably the best purchase of any kind I've made. Gotten a lot of mileage out of that one for long trips.

I'll throw Mingus' black saint and the sinner lady out there, really a journey in its own to listen to that record .

Anybody else dig jazz but with a modern/hip hop/funk twist (well 2003) I would suggest grabbing shades of blue by madlib. Great album

I'm going to assume that "Old Albums" means > 10 years so if anyone likes progressive/hard rock Coheed and Cambria "Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: Vol 1 From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness" is a near masterpiece. Probably the best rock album of that decade (2000-2009).

Great list....BTW....the "Reputa the beauta" was on the Geils :Blow your face out" live LP....
I saw Grand Funk last fall (original drummer and bassist) - they still rock. They've got former Kiss axe man Bruce Kulick and former .38 special member Max Carl.

Any Steely Dan LP will do. They are at the OAKDALE in April.....but Steve Winwood doesn't join the tour until May sometime.

Yep. That band (all of them) is a trainwreck as they had a rift. Original singer took 2 others and split off. Touring as UB40. The rest of band is touring as UB40 also. I might buy tix in July if available.

I went to see Malo in the early 70s I believe at the University of New have. Arrived to learn they weren't making it (illness?) and they brought in some other band. I was pissed! Who the hell is Fleetwood Mac?!

I went to see Malo in the early 70s.

Malo is what made realize the power of Google. We were trying to figure out who sang that song, "Never....I never met a girl like you...." I seemed to recall it had something to do with Santana's brother. So I entered " Santana's brother" and Malo was one of the first entries.

Gong-Angel's Egg and You

FWIW, I started out with Gong. That's the type of thing I was looking for, something way off my radar screen. I never heard of them and I'm almost through their Radio Gnome Invisible Trilogy of which Egg and You are a part. It's been fun, I hear some Zappa and Traffic in there. I'm going with Sparks next and perhaps Coheed and Cambria after that.
