Amaker is the hot name, though that'd be a mistake.

Patrick Ewing makes a lot of sense if they can surround him with the right recruiters/assistants. Got to get that Georgetown mystique back.

King Rice if they want to go to a guy who's got high upside. Worth noting he just backed out of the Duquesne job.

IMO they missed the boat on the ideal replacements – Keatts and Wade.

Really hope it's not Ewing like everyone keeps saying. Ewing is basically Ollie's resume coming into the HC job at UConn but on steroids. Just another Northeastern bball historical power with an NBA star coach, not exactly reducing competition.

I would think Patrick would jump at the opportunity unless he's really turned off by the thought of recruiting. He's been trying to get a shot as a HC in the NBA for years now, it might never happen. This may be his only shot to be the head honcho.

Hiring Ewing sounds crazy to me. They need a coach, not some legend who was out of the NBA when current recruits were in diapers.

Unlike, if it existed.

King Rice? Does that name sound familiar because it should? Foggy memory of a NYC PG legend?

Not NYC – upstate. Played for UNC in the late 80s/early 90s.

I think he's a really good coach, and is lowkey the guy I kind of expect to replace Boeheim.

30 years ago. I'll take a victory lap that my mind remembered the name and the state.

Ewing would be a great choice. Somehow I suspect Ewing would take it as a prelude to an NBA HC gig.

But he would be a great fit. He only needs to bring about a great recruiter, selling his name to recruits. He certainly has NBA connections and NBA pedigree including the Olympics. Be stupid not to court and lure him 'home'.
