WVU made the typical gathering information statement.

There’s so many alternatives to getting behind the wheel drunk. Uber, Lyft, etc. I hope he gets help before he kills or maims someone. Drunk drivers and those who condone it can go rot.
Exactly. Grow up bro

WVU can deduct some more from his pay next season and he can coach for free.

From a coldly business perspective, you do not want to be the people employing him when he kills himself or someone else while on a bender.

There’s simply no way they can keep him.
Syracuse did it with Boeheim, no?

In the plus column for WVU:

They've had 24 Rhodes Scolars to date, we just had our first a few years ago and haven't yet had a second. That doesn't come close to covering everything but it has to count for something.
Their last Rhodes scholar was in 1995.

Never pretend that you‘re somehow better than people that live in different parts of the country. Just makes you look more ignorant than you normally look.

I think there’s a pretty gigantic sample size from which we can conclude that certain states are more prone to forgive egregious behavior, no?

In any event, it’s neither here nor there in this case. Huggins’ defenders at WVU had to go to the mat to keep him employed after the gay slur. He’s done.

The university got concessions from Huggins to be active in the LBGQT community, along with a host of other financial and next-step behavioral concessions. That was what, 2 months ago.

Given the liability issues a poster mentioned earlier, he is a danger to himself & others (notably other drivers) in the community, etc. Even in a state where he is beloved, it is hard to imagine he survives this. We are into financial liability territory and that will trump basketball.

Unless they're from Syracuse...
