Lineman Jeremiah Clarke Gets UConn Offer

Junior Jeremiah Clarke of T.C. Wilson High School in Alexandria VA was recently offered a scholarship by the UConn coaching staff. The 6’4″, 275 lineman now hold 16 scholarship offers, according to the Washington Post.

An article at Varsity Press lists Clarke’s best attributes as versatility, quickness, meanness, size and use of hands. Judge for yourself – here’s a YouTube.com highlight video from the 2012 season and another video from hudl.com.

Clarke can play on either side of the ball and has been recruited for both offense and defense with an emphasis on defense. Clarke reported his stats for 2012 as 38 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 7 QB hurries, 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 1 deflection.

Clarke has said he’s weighing schools on their coaching staffs, academics (he wants to study engineering) and tradition. He grew up in Virginia and does have an offer from UVa, and indications are he could be a Virginia lean. Other schools that have offered include West Virginia, Penn St., Maryland, UVA, Charlotte, Temple, Wake Forest, UNC, NC State, ODU, Toledo and San Diego St.
