Insane tactic by KO. He normally switches to zone for a few possessions out of a time out, and our defense has been better of late in zone. But, going zone for a majority of the game was a bad idea against a team like this.

We invited them to get hot from 3, and as a good team does they hit shots. Nothing changed, and we continued to leave shooters open on the perimeter. Would have preferred to have seen us go man-to-man for most of the game.

Zone also put us out of position for rebounds constantly. Hate the decision to stay zone almost all game, it killed us.

Nova was going to shred our defense no matter what.

I think the zone was a conscious decision to slow the game and limit possessions - no problem with that.

We also have no real depth and our bigs are foul-prone. If we went man, Diarra would have fouled out before his sneakers were tied.

Well when you can't keep your man in front of you or you can't defend the three very well for multiple reasons, you choose the lesser of two evils. Regardless, Nova is heads above us.

For once in his coaching career Ollie realized man wasn’t working, can’t knock the guy for having a pulse.

We go under screens and leave shooters on the wing to help double the post. Hasn't worked and never will.

Not to defend KO's other shortcomings (primarily building the current roster) but do you truly believe that playing zone is why Nova was able to beat us by 20 points?

We should have picked up from half court in man and at least made them use their legs for something other than their shot. They were way too comfortable hanging out on the three line with wide open looks. It was a very poor strategy KO employed.
