1. Defensive improvement curve: The 5 best guys we already have (Brimah, DHam, Facey, TSam, Rodney) have to come back better, stronger and smarter. Their defensive rotations, in particular, have to be crisper - right now KO basically can't play Brimah & KF together b/c neither of them see or understand the game all that well. Getting these 5 to look more like basketball players and less like raw talent is more important than the performance of any one recruit.
2. Free throws: We all know we'd have 3 or 4 more wins (Texas, Yale, Temple, Houston) if we could hit our freebies. The good news is that the two guys who are best at drawing fouls - Hamilton & Brimah - have both been pretty reliable from the line over the past 6 weeks.
3. Smarter ball movement: It often looks like our guys are passing the ball for no particular reason at all, save for the fact that it's what they do in practice. They swing it side-to-side and open up a gap, but then don't exploit it. KF or DHam flash to the foul line, and the entry pass comes a split second too late. Omar catches the ball in the corner, but his feet aren't set for the quick 3. Brimah or KF draw a double team on the block, but don't know where the next pass is.
There's too much b**ching about turnovers, recruits and rebounding on this board. It's the above things that are the real worry, and will be KO's main focus in the offseason. Given how much his previous players and teams have improved, I'm confident.
