Cardiac Kemba does it again!

I'll take the all-time leading scorer (Pistol Pete) who outscored the next guy on this list (Larry Legend) by 14 PPG, please. He also more than doubled the per-game output of the number 3 guy on this list (No-Nickname McDermott), and that guy had the benefit of the 3-point line.

when you absolutely, positively, need a bucket.

im off popeye's lately. lol.

The best three point shooters are still under 50% . The big guy shot .667 .
All those three point shooters were missing more than hitting.

Maravich would either make the hoop or make an impossible pass to someone wide open.

I have to go to Lew Alcindor here. Shot 64% in college. That sky hook is as money as it gets. Kemba deserves consideration among the rest as a clutch player. Never saw Pistol Pete, assume he was money. This is for their college selves. The middle row shouldn't be on the list.

If you extend to their NBA selves, then I'd go Bird, Kareem, Curry.

With a good point guard to get him the ball, Lew Alcindor
Without a good point guard, Pistol Pete

Shabazz wouldn't be a bad choice, either, right?

But since only 1 UCONN guy is on the list, I'll take Kardiac Kemba, with Bird a tiny whisker behind

Bird. 6’9” and could score anywhere on the court. If the play broke down he could hit a fadeaway 3 with a 6’10” guy in his grill, he could drive, dish or shoot it from behind the backboard. If I was really faced with this dilemma, I wouldn’t even debate giving it to Bird——-and I wasn’t even a Bird/Celtics fan.

It's an odd list of players from different eras and different positions.

for my money there's only four on that list I'd even consider based on their college playing days.

Kemba
Larry
Pistol
Lew

Speaking of the Celtics, I do agree Bird was the man. And, I am not a Celtics fan.

As I remember, John Havlicek made clutch buckets too , so I would be confident in him at a critical juncture in the game.

Or just pick Bird and not worry about whether or not there is a guard on the team.
NBA Bird would not onlhy demand the ball, he'd tell the other team what you were running and what shot he was going take. Then he'd make it.

Not so sure about college Bird. He had a rough championship game again Mich St. Of course they had a pretty good kid name Earvin on the team.
