WR Skyler Bell is the first Associated Press First Team All-American in program history

When we first saw him in game action early last year making big plays, I said I thought he had a chance to be UConn's best offensive player since Donald Brown. Didn't imagine he'd get 1st team All-American though - hearty congrats Skyler!!

Well which is ti?

UConn has had 18 players earn first or second team All-American status dating back to 1955 and Bell is fifth wide receiver in program history to earn the honor, joining Carl Bond (1997), Mark Didio (1990 & 1991), Glen Antrum (1988), and Reggie Eccleston (1980). Over the program’s history, 36 players have been honored with All-American first, second team or honorable mention honors.

I believe the differentiation is Associated Press First Team All-American. For example - I believe Donald Brown was a First Team All American by Sporting News.

TOO MANY ALL AMERICA TEAMS - is this THE list or just ANOTHER list?
...given the names on the list, I will assume this is THE list, and if so... holy moly to see the uconn husky logo up there, surrounded by all those P2 brands (and at a SKILL position, to boot), is something my eyes never thought they'd behold, back when i started this sad journey in 2021 lol.

man oh man, I hope we keep going upward. pleaseeeee coach candle, don't let me down.

While I congratulate him on this achievement, I find it sad he has accepted the senior bowl invite. This while turning down the team that helped him get it for their bowl invite.

Coaches agree…

-> He is the fourth Husky during the FBS era (2003-present) to earn a spot on multiple All-America teams in a season, joining former offensive lineman Christian Hayes (2022 & 2023) and running backs Jordan Todman (2010) and Donald Brown (2008). <-
