A lot of guys showed up to play today - almost a full compliment of players.

Oddly, the two best players do not seem to have found their way to Hartford - when Tolksdorf outscores our backcourt, (I'm not giving Boat credit for those two buckets in garbage time), we be screwed.

If we have any more noon starts this season, I will be cold-calling Boatright and Napier at 8 am to make sure they're up and out of bed.

Any good will that was earned against Syracuse was set on fire this afternoon.

Anywho, on to the next game.

Funny you bring up the noon start Fishy, i was thinkin the same thing. For some reason the team has not played well lately in these home games that start at noon.

Eh, I'll take a win over Cuse on ESPN that everyone watched and a hangover noon loss to Nova over the reverse any day.

This was flaming garbage and right now I hate Boatright for killing 3 hours of my life but I'll get over it.

Noon is pretty early for college kids. I'm 23 and noon is still early

At least El Amin would wake up with about 5 minutes left, put the team on his back and pull the game out. That did not happen today. Similar to Dyson in noon games - the alarm clock never went off.

Is it just me or have we had a lot of odd game times this year? It's like the schedulers conspired to give us as little prime time exposure as possible. Between the Saturday noon games, all the Sunday games, it's like we're allergic to television viewership.

Remember when we used to be routinely featured on Saturday afternoons and Big Monday?

What time was curfew last night? Just askin'.

They both must have gotten some serious tail last night.

"Any good will that was earned against Syracuse was set on fire this afternoon." --

Completely wrong. The Cuse win, together with Michigan State, will forever be remembered as the signature wins of this over-acheiving team in Ollie's first season.

Now if you're talking about sustained fan support, that won't have a chance of happening until we've left the big east (or whatever the new league of cusa misfits will be called) for greener pa$tures.

I love this stuff about our guys don't function well at noon because we're partyers and late sleepers. If only the game were at 3, different story changed outcome. What about the NOVA players? I guess they're used to getting up with the cows huh? Does getting up too early keep us from fighting for a rebound? We are short down low and one of the worst rebounding teams in rhe country, and it's gonna hurt when our thin guard lineup is not on, and that will happen from time to time. We always expect to win at home but at this point there is reality.

El-Amin never woke up against Gonzaga. Dribbled off his leg with 2 minutes left and nobody near him. Rip was 9-14 against a box and one.

Of course year before, Rip was sleepwalking (flu perhaps) against UNC and Khalid carried him.

As Aristotle once said, some days, you just suck (it sounds more eloquent when spoken in ancient Greek)

The game also started at noon for Villanova. Poor excuse for a bad game by our guards.

We are missing Wolf, and the defense is average at best when Giffey is not on the court. Until Daniels stops being such a matador defensively, Giffey needs to play close to 30 minutes. As good as Daniels is offensively, he is not good enough on that end of the court to compensate for all the defensive breakdowns he causes on the other end.

God, you are a master of the duck*ing obvious, ain't you?

The only problem with putting Daniels on the pine, Nelson, is that our piss-poor rebounding will just fall off a table. He only gets five a game, but without his body in the way, we might never see another rebound.

My 8 year old son is recognizing Daniels' defensive breakdowns.

A fun game to play at home is to identify how many times Daniels' starts looking around frantically for his guy on defense. Daniels completely loses his guy about 5 times a game.

Daniels should be our best program, and I expect him to be a very, very good scorer next year, but until he get to a minimum of adequate defensively, I don't think Ollie can play him starter's minutes.

Another fun game to play at home is let Daniels catch the ball, take 1 second, then pause the tv and guess what he is going to do with it. My guess is you will have about a 90% accuracy rate. I think we all see the upside to this kid and I do expect a noticeable difference next season, but for now Daniels doesn't start on most top 25 teams.

Another fun game is to actually watch the duck*ing game. Our guards love to go under and around screens. If you watch or play a lot of ball you know typical defense for the screen and roll is to have the big hedge once the main defender is screened. When our guards don't get caught in the screen and our big hedges anyway, the screener isn't occupied with contacting the guard and proceeds to another location on the floor. Our big is left looking for their man, which is typically close by just getting done screening, and thus the chaos you see as result actually has a deeper rooted cause other than Daniels being sub par defensively.

On the offensive end, he will be perfectly fine once he plays with the consistent confidence we saw when he finally threw down that dunk on the break against Nova. That was the first time since the MSU game that I saw him try to eat someone else's lunch. Some more time in the weight room will not help his confidence, more plays like that will. He should be playing as much as he does. Giffey should be used more as a swing, drop OC to the 2 so Boat and Bazz can get more in game breaks.

I hope neither of you are in the Ten Toes in thread, because this is a s*** load of half steppin.
