Lunardi had this predicted correctly and I was hoping he'd be wrong. He had Iowa St as the 9 and us as the 8 but same result....Kentucky in second round. Let's not overlook Iowa St though. This bracket is a killer.....
Not sure I am excited about it as you two are. If it wasn't in Kentucky I would feel better, of course UConn has to get by Iowa St who has won some big games this year.
I wish I shared your optimism. It looks like the NCAA wanted a rematch form last year's tourney and a chance to give us an early exit. Kentucky in Kentucky?? (assuming we get past the first game of course).
With Hathaway in charge, we should have expected this, but I'm actually happy about it. We still don't have the confidence to grind out 5 increasingly difficult wins at this point, but if we knock off #1, it just may give us what we need.
Not happy with this draw. Iowa State is a tough game just to start. They're one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the country so we can't be lazy closing out like we have been at times this year.
Then Kentucky? Sheesh. Good motivation for our guys, I guess.
Hathaway is trying to screw UConn. Playing UK in the state of KY is tough, but it would be interesting to see if Drummond stepped his game up. Iowa St. is a tough team though.
Well that Iowa St game is not a walk over so lets just get past that, plus the game is in the Yum center a building in which UConn really hasnt played well in in recent years. Then worry about basically playing a home game for UK, if that happens let hope that the sheer hate felt by Louisville fans for UK causes them to snap up some tickets and pull for there conference mates.
