Worst Contracts In Pro Sports History

As a Yankee fan I was not thrilled to get a player that was part of the team that ended one of the greatest stories of all time the “Curse of the Bambino” . And from being down 0-3 in a 7 game series.

The way it worked out even if it was not planned Damon was a double agent made us worse and reminded us of the worst moment in our history with every extended DL trip.

Can’t believe they invited him back to old timers day. It was an insult to all true Yankee fans. IMO.
As a Sox fan, those are the sweetest words.....

You seem to be talking about Johnny Damon here.

Ellsbury was a bust for the Yankees and a terrible contract. Damon was very good as a Yankee, a very good contract for the Yankees, considers himself a Yankee, considers Boston an ex-girlfriend, and he was a huge part of the Yankees winning their last World Series.

Oops yes I was talking about Ellsbury. Got em mixed up.

FOX paying Brady $375M for 10 years as a commentator has to be up there...and I say that as a Pats fan. Just a remarkable waste of money. The NFL is a ratings monster no matter who is commentating in the booth. Adding Brady does absolutely nothing. They'd get a better ROI by giving that money to Taylor Swift to be in the booth every week lmao
Hell they'd be better paying Taylor Swift to be in the stands watching the game (I mean owners box)

Aaron Hicks 7 year extension, Bryce Harper wanted to be a Yankee btw and was willing to negotiate and take less per year, but Cashman said the Yankees had too many outfielders, he refused to even have talks with Harper.

WTF. Could’ve put Harper at first base.

I always thought the non-pursual of Harper was more about Stanton than Hicks. We traded for Stanton in 18, Harper was a FA in 19. I like Stanton, the guy, but even back then I thought it was a totally unnecessary move to get him. The MVP year was an outlier to what he has always been. And man Harper would've been an absolute stud and ridiculous compliment to Judge.

Watching the Browns vs Cowboys, it got me thinking about the worst contracts teams have given out. It’s relatively early, but might DeShaun Watson’s be? Bobby Bonilla and Pablo Sandoval might be contenders. What other ones come to mind?
Frankly, you're talking about the wrong QB from that game. $60M for 4 years of dinky Dak is front office malpractice

Dan’s contract is bad but you’re seriously trying to say it’s worse than Watson’s???? LO freaking L

Timofey Mozgov and Loul Deng to the Lakers in the same offseason. Loul Deng's contract was especially horrid and sat on the books for six years after leaving the franchise.
