Last week I went to Dubrovnik, a Croatian restaurant in New Rochelle, NY. I got samobor style pork chop with garlic steamed potatoes, and broccoli rabe. I also got a Dalmatian charcutetie board and bread with a roasted red pepper hummus. Pics below.

This week I went to Aurora’s, a Guatemalan restaurant and bakery in Hartford. I got a churrasco plate which includes flank steak, beans with cheese, chorizo, rice, scallions, papusa tortillas, salsa, and a cole slaw.

I was wondering if anyone of you know of any African restaurants. I have done Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Morocco already. Would be most interested to find an Egyptian, Cape Verdean, Tunisian, or South African restaurant.

Here's one for you. I have not been there for years, but enjoyed it when I went for lunch when there was a nice daily buffet.

I just recently learned of Asian Invasion in Meriden and haven't tried it yet but it looks like a good place to get some variety for lunch. Thought I'd share.
I'd die for something like that here in Pittsburgh. We have some decent noodle places that are pan-Asian and a great place that features street food from several countries, but nothing quite like the menu for this place.

They just opened and they would like to be able to franchise someday. I'll put in a good word for the burgh!

Mediterranea on Orange Street in New Haven. It is probably best known as a hookah place, and he also sells pizza slices, but Omar, the owner, is Syrian and he makes great Middle Eastern food. I love his falafel and foul mudammas, and sometimes he will make Syrian bread, as well as lentil soup. Great lamb kafta too.
@shizzle787 , did you happen to eat lunch here today by any chance? Saw a guy I thought might be you.

I did not. Apparently I have a lot of doppeldangers: Macauley Caulkin, Willem Dafoe, Doogie Howser, Darryl Hall, and now whoever you saw in New Haven.

Thank God. I almost blurted out "shizzle" just to see if it would elicit a reaction.

Uruguayan is in Norwalk and it was great.
I assume you're referring to Capri. I don't see chivito on that menu. That's like having an American restaurant without burgers.

The people who own it are Uruguayan and they only serve empanadas. Yes, it is disappointing they are missing their traditional dish.

Maison Mathis and Atelier Florian in New Haven are Belgian restaurants; but the best Belgian frites are either Rudy’s or Fussy Coffee.
