Women in Music

Recorded in 1988 but it seems people have gotten sidetracked since then:

As far as I'm aware, this singer has a very unique style, I've never heard anybody else that sounds similar.

This singer, Anna Murphy, was in another band where she was only occasionally featured as the lead singer. She left with several members of that band to form another and she is the main vocalist. Gotta love the hurdy gurdy, one of the odder instruments in existence.

Guitar player I stumbled onto on You Tube. Fun fact: she's from Riga, Latvia, home of about 1/3 of the population of the entire country. That is simply amazing.

To round things out, some metal from Sirenia and Ailyn:

Okay, really the last one for tonight, some English traditional music from Eliza Carthy. Liza is the mistress of maudlin -- this is a totally depressing rendition of a totally depressing set of lyrics.

dear sir, madam, dude, dudette, whatever,
to whom it may concern.

when we peruse the tune thread, many like to listen a bit to the ones we don't know. that's good for say, 5 or 10 unknown beats. after say, 5 or 10 unknowns, u get burnt out, and have little interest in 'trying new music.'
please consider this, especially if ur hope is to expose those tunes. 18 or 47 in a row is a nonstarter, and, on this end, work that ain't gonna happen.

Haven't gone through all 11 pages to see if this was posted already BUT, I discovered this young woman accidentally on You Tube. Amy MacDonald:
