Unbelievable. The Daily Campus is reporting that there's "pretty much no way to stay in the country if he's found guilty."

Immigration Lawyer's claim

He can always sneak across the border into Massachusetts. There's pretty much no way to get him out of the country, from there. No matter what he is accused or convicted of doing.

"But even if convicted of the felony, Wolf’s sentence would have to meet a minimum threshold to qualify him for deportation under federal aggravated felony law, Redman said.

According to Syracuse University’s TRAC Immigration website, a “burglary offense for which the term of imprisonment is at least one year,” meets the federal description of an aggregated felony offense that could lead to deportation.

In Redman’s experience, there is “pretty much no way of staying in this country,” if that criteria is met."

I'm no expert, but doesn't that suggest that the only way he would be deported is if he is found guilty and given at least a 1 year prison sentence?

I have been following the details closely but do we even know if the charges are true or what they really are at this point? Speculation can drive you nuts.

He will never be convicted of a felony. It will get knocked down to disorderly conduct and he will get acceleraed rehabilitation. The charge will then never appear on his record. That is if the victim actually decides to assist in prosecution.

If he did it, and the victim decides to work with the prosecution (for whatever it's worth), I can't see how he ever gets back on the team - zero tolerance and all that. It really won't matter if he's allowed to stay or forced to leave, at least from the team perspective. For Wolf's sake, I hope it works out for the best for him...

Too bad Wolf isn't a UConn running back, going rate for incidents like these is about one quarter against Rutgers.

As a foreign national, if convicted of an imprisonable offense, he has the right to serve his sentence in Germany, and the US also has the right to make him serve his time in Germany. No reason US taxpayers need to pay for his stupidity.

If Wolf becomes an "illegal alien" he gets to go to UConn free.

He completes family relations and the case is stricken from the record unless someone presses assault charges. In other words, he is clear if he completes the program and doesn't violate the protective order (Miles).

He may very well be reinstated soon.

You are SOOOO right. You can even kill someone with a car and Deval Patrick will protect you. Heck, up here in Mass they give illegals section 8 housing and welfare benefits. Wolf should just hop in a car and run for the border.
