Wow, the Lib are busy today. I can't believe I forgot about Johannes. She looked good last season.

So if in the end they get rid of Durr and Walker, resign Dangerfield and bring in Johannes, pretty decent moves overall.

So...who is the worst team in the league? NY seems to have moved themselves out of the conversation with their recent play. Minny, Phoenix, Indy, probably one of those three. Of those, Phoenix has no business being at that level.
As a Mercury fan I anticipated that the absence of BG would have a significant impact on the team. That combined with a first-time head coach who really seems out of her depth means for me makes Mercury the worst team in the W.

By a wide margin the Mercury the worst defensive team in the league. They've always been mediocre defensively and that mediocrity has been offset by BG's presence at the rim. Aside from Turner no one on the roster is confident defensively. The GOAT unfortunately is showing her age and is clearly a half to a full step slower than almost any guard in the league. Skylar Diggins invests so much energy running the team on the offensive end that while her energy is appreciated it lags on the defensive end of the court. And speaking of age Charles who can still hit the open shot has precipitously declined in her defense.

Moreover over the last several seasons the Mercury have never invested significant energy, commitment, or interest in the defensive side of the ball. I think that that has been revealed now that their rim protector is gone.

It pains me both to watch what's happened to the Mercury as well as DT. She can still shoot the heck out of the ball but her age is clearly showing defensively and I would have liked to have remembered her as she was not as she is. Reminds me of the final Willie Mays season.

So the Liberty basically traded Durr for the rights to Carrera, cut Dangerfield so that they could bring Walker on to cut her so that they could bring Dangerfield back so that they can cut her when Johannes comes aboard.

Have I got that right? If not, no problem, I have to go down to the workshop to get a new set screw to fix my spinning head.

Crystal would look good in a storm uniform, good backcourt with January, cut their 11th person they signed
to a train camp contract who is a 7th frontcourt player.
That way get back to 5 guards, and 2 that are under 34.
Stewart, Ezi, Gabby, Tolbert, Langford, and Russell, are more then enough front court players.
Plus at least Crystal can shoot the three, which they have a lot of players who can't.
Gabby has to pick it up on offense, needs to shoot even if she misses. She has to be some kind of threat to open up the floor. So Stewie, Jewell, and Ezi have room to operate.

I like Dangerfield and think she has what it takes to run a team. Her size has largely been the issue but I can't understand MN cutting her when their entire roster is a work in progress.

The Storm likely need a younger guard as Sue, Prince and January aren't exactly young. It's time for Seattle to build for a future and that may or may not include Stewie.

Gabby is likely what she is in the W. She's incredibly athletic and has skills but her offensive game has shown to be limited in the league. She would be on my team but I'm not sure if she could be a starter.

Crystal's size is a major issue and she gets targeted often on the defensive end. In her ROY campaign, she more than made up for it with explosive offense and was a steady 3pt threat but this year, she cant hit the 3 and this is making it harder for her to get in the lane. She is still a good set up pg with positive A/TO but the other stats with the Liberty are not competitive. Interestingly, especially in the advanced stats, she was strong in the 3 IND games but has fallen off with the Liberty

Watching the Lynx/Liberty game yesterday, Sabrina was on FIRE! She was torching my Minnesota Lynx team. Wow!!

The only thing she needs to keep under control is TO's and a little more consistency. Unfortunately, the results of the team affect how she is considered.

What is James Wade up to? He's practically platooning Vandersloot and Evans at PG. Dana can shoot the 3, but she's not half the PG that Sloot is. I don't get it.

Mystics controlled most of the second half, were running away, but Sky with a late rally to nearly steal it. Washington wins by 2. It wasn't a scheduled day off for EDD, but she didn't play in the 2nd half due to a stiff back. Pretty sure this was Alysha Clark's best game so far w/ the Mystics.

Sylvia Fowles ruled out indefinitely…. Like the lynx needed anymore injuries
That sucks. Maybe Cox (or some one else) makes her way back as a hardship signing?

Elissa Cunane is already there on a hardship signing (for Achonwa or Dantas?). Another option would be to go slightly smaller and rotate Shepard into the post role and have Carleton play more. In either case, it's not optimal, that's for sure. Hope Syl can heal well and quickly and get back at some point.

According to Reeve, they will play smaller . Byn the way, it seems Moriah will be back .

Liberty / Indiana. My favorite Andraya Carter in her first play-play assignment. She is stellar imo

Nasty early Collision between Rebecca Allen and Vivians. Allen left the court looking pretty roughed up

Happy to say the Liberty spanked the Fever on the road 97-83. 31 assists on 38 baskets. 13-28 from 3. 36-65 on all shots. Crysyal had a horrible first half but a strong 2nd half. Fun team with Johannes, Han Xu, Sabrina, Crystal, Howard, etc.

Convinced to go for my second Barcley game against the Sky on Sunday.

Love Gabby's hustle, but Seattle isn't going to win many games playing 4 on 5.
After this many years Gabby isn't going to suddenly become an offensive threat.
Her ability to play defense will probably keep her in the league as a role player.

Sky took down the Sun. Connecticut had been looking nearly unbeatable lately.

Allemand joined the team today. Meesseman w/ probably her best game so far w/ the Sky. 26 pts on 11-14 shooting.
