I had to quit watching toward the end of Q1. Worked like magic. Sun were up as much as 17 or 18. Aces have cut it to 3 at halftime. Jackie Young going off w/ 16. Wilson and Hamby went to work in Q2. Sun were absolutely insanely hot to start, looks like they finally started to cool off somewhat.

Maybe it is just her demeanor, but Stokes play like she is lazy. If she is not going to score, she should at least try to go all out on the defensive end.

Come on now, Bonner and Jonquel a combined 8 for 10 behind the arc? Ridiculous.

78-72 thru Q3. Aces have gotten within 1 twice, but then get behind by 5 or more again.

Young and Plum have combined for 43 so far.

18 for Jonquel and 16 each for Bonner and Courtney Williams.

Young just rolled her ankle. That's devastating, especially with nobody on the bench worth a darn (is Riquna ever gonna come back?).

Stick a fork in the Aces. Can't score since Young left. Wilson and Gray taking turns trying to play hero ball, and it ain't working. Other than Q2, really bad night for A'ja.

.-.
Gray is out now as well. Aces lack of depth is a serious problem w/ 2 starters down.

This was something that was talked about during the game on Tuesday. Will be something to watch.

Dangerfield could be available when NY has a player or two come back.

Crystal with another mature game 4 assists / 0 TO's in the Liberty's win but I wish she would get her 3pt shot going

Stinkin' Sun played out of their minds last night to beat the Aces, now in danger of losing to the lowly Merc.

Wings running away from the Storm. Is Sue ever coming back?

Chicago beat Atlanta earlier. While the Dream certainly are much improved, apparently most of their wins have been against bottom feeders so far.

Never mind, Merc blew an 11 point lead over the last 6+ minutes. No Charles tonight, sure could've used her against the Sun. They went w/ a Lilliputian starting lineup, Turner and a bunch of guards/wings. Cunningham is in no way a 4, can't believe they're actually using her there. But I guess the options of Gustafson and Anigwe aren't very appealing?

Wings rolled the Storm by 17. No scoring outside of Stewie and Loyd. Stewie had 27, Loyd 13, the rest of the team COMBINED for 11. Oof.

Come home Stewie to the NY Liberty. Seattle does not look so adorable without Sue. ;)

When Ezi and Sue get back, Gabby needs to go to the bench. It doesn't look like she ever will have any offensive game.
And when Russell is in the game you need at least 4 players who can score.
This very well could be Gabby's last chance to make it in the league.
Another player who needs to go is Prince, the last 3 games 0-14. As a reserve, that is unacceptable. Gabby gets 140,000, and Prince gets 115,000. Bring back Davis who had 18 pts the other night, and is in her 20's, and let Prince go.

If the contracts are guaranteed, I don't think you can replace them by a "cheaper" version since both contracts would be on the books and that will go over the cap . I don't think things like buy outs exist to get out of a contract.

Prince is not on a protected contract, like Angel on Minnesota. So Seattle could reach an agreement to buy her out. Then they have a small amt on of dead money on their cap. Read through an article on cap space.
Protected and Unprotected, only 6 per team can be protected, as guaranteed salaries.

Gabby signed over seas with a French team for 22/23 season.
The French playoffs ended today.
She would be suspended, based on the current version of the prioritization rule in the WNBA, for next year.
So this could well be her last WNBA season.

Next year is the year you are fined a percentage of your pay for missing the season opener. The next year is the suspension. There could be a number of stars not playing in 2024. Stewie, Jones have already hinted they are possibly not playing.
You can't blame them, they only have a limited time to make the money.
There is a big difference even between the max of 500,000, and the Approximately 1.2 Stewie was making overseas.

Gray is playing for Las Vegas today, but no Young. Plaisance inserted in the starting lineup.

I know I sound like a broken record. Wilson was just chosen for Player of the Month (along w/ Alyssa Thomas). I just DON'T see it. And today when her team could use her stepping up, off to a rough start. 2-8 shooting, 2 rebounds approaching halftime. Young has been the Aces best player, not Wilson, and Plum has probably been second best.

Bird and Magbegor finally back. Storm up 13 on Sun. Hopefully they won't collapse down the stretch like the Merc did.

Sun have been playing very well. Will the lack of a PG catch up to them? I just don't think either Williams or Heideman is really a PG, although both are quality players.

.-.
Oops, Storm lead evaporated right before the half. Magbegor has 13, but Stewie and Williams have combined for 4 points. That ain't gonna get it done, especially against the Sun.

Russell is back for the Storm. I think this is the first time all year they've been at full strength?

4 games going on simultaneously (why?). All at the half, all within 3 points or less.

Minnesota beat NY and Atlanta beat Indiana earlier today. Ionescu has been on a tear, 31 today, third straight game w/ 23+.

Powers played dynamically throughout, including 3 for 3 from three Lynx shot out to a huge lead, Liberty came back but Minnesota had the last run. Fowles, K-Mac and Rachal Banham were pretty solid, as well

Wilson line--4 pts, 4 rebs, 4 fouls. Stokes is outscoring her, she has 6. Long way from over, but looks like Plum is trying to put the team on her back. 25 pts (9-13 shooting), 5 assists. Aces had stretched the lead to 11 but Dallas stormed back to within 3 at the end of Q3.

Jeez, Sun blowing the Storm off the court in Q4. What the heck happened? 24-9 so far, Conn. up 9 late.
