I think Quigley has been the MVP for Phoenix. Another terrible shot.

All whining aside, Chicago's failure to get a D board on the previous possession probably cost them the game. Now they are down 4 w/ 27.4 left. I exaggerated, but Phoenix had at least 3 and maybe 4 O boards on one trip down the court.

Quigley missed from about 35 feet. Shot clock wasn't expiring. 2-11 from 3. She's killing the Sky. Copper bails them out w/ O board and an and-1.

Seriously. Another awful shot by Quigley. Looks like Phoenix is going to take the W.

So...why have Taurasi inbounding there? Wouldn't you like to have her available to take the shot? Griner couldn't handle the pass, Sky couldn't get a shot off, we're going to OT.

Happy for both teams getting to the Finals. I picked Chicago to win it all. This is a turning out to be a great game.

Griner knocked Copper into Taurasi there. NO WAY that's a 4 point play. Refs are gonna make sure Phoenix ties the series up. Should've been an offensive foul on the screen and waive off the bucket.
Not sure how they could call a foul on Copper in that situation.

Chicago STILL has had their changes. Parker blows a bunny. She's been M.I.A. almost the entire 2nd half and OT.

Uh...yeah, that was a foul on DT on the steal. No call of course.

Yeah, Chicago had their chances. That missed shot by Candace hurt. Could have been a one point game. Moments like this, she has to take over or step up. But Chicago gotta regroup and come out for Game 3. Great win by Phoenix.

.-.
Serious homecooking but great game nonetheless. Taurasi and Diggins have come up huge in OT after a quiet first and 2nd half.

Chicago has to have better play from Parker and Quigley.

Phoenix needs much better from Diggins-Smith. She got a big layup at the end, but she was 5-18. She did have 12 assists.

Griner was dominating w/ 29 pts and 9 rebs, but I think the best player on the floor was Sloot. Put on another clinic on how to play PG.

Pretty quiet 2nd half for Copper as well. Only 5 pts combined in 3rd and 4th quarter + OT.

.-.
2nd half turned into too much of a 2 man game between Quigley and Vandersloot. Copper and Parker weren't involved nearly enough.
I have no idea why Quigley was shooting so much, she couldn't hit anything.

Sloot had 14 assists, she was finding somebody other than Quigley on some made buckets.

Pretty sure Taurasi has 1 assist and 9 TOs in the 2 games so far. She has to be better than that at some point in the series, right?

Better at what ? Creating stats? All she cares about is winning. If she keeps getting 4 point plays at critical times in the game everything else is secondary. Diggins got the assists tonight. the next game it might be DT. But they were real physical with DT and she doesn't care if she gets pounded as long at Griner and Skylar take up the slack. Good to see Cunningham back and pitch in. They needed that extra player.

Evans is a disaster out there. Isn't there a better option to give Vandersloot a rest now and then?

Parker made some unwise decisions and too many turnovers in key situations.

Not buying it. Taurasi #5 all time in assists (regular season, maybe she's even higher for playoff games?). I'm sure she doesn't care about compiling stats, but 1:9 A:TO is horrible, she knows it, she can't be happy about it.

Wade sat her out for 1 of the games against the Sun. Went w/ Lexie Brown instead. I guess that wasn't any better? Sloot needs to play 40 minutes from here on out. It would only be 2 more games if they can close them out in Chicago.

But she still made some dagger 3's at the end. She can have a terrible game for 90% of the game and then all of a sudden, go off. That mental toughness is what sets her apart.

8 points in overtime. Outscored the Sky in OT all by herself. Nitpick her stats all you like. Clutch isn't a stat and outweighs all else.

I thought Brondello made a subtle but important substitution: she put Cunningham back in the game in OT to cover Copper (taking over for Peddy, who was in at the end of the 4th).
Sophie's a bigger body, has that attack-dog mentality and put a blanket on Copper, which kept her from relatively easy drives over smaller guards or offensive rebounds. Good sub. If Sophie is good to go the rest of the playoffs, that helps Phoenix a lot.

DT has done it so many times throughout her career, you would think by now we would all get used to it. But I continue to be amazed at how DT can almost be a non-factor until the end of the game and then start hitting one bomb after another to put an opponent away.

GOAT!!!
