I am a huge college men’s and women’s basketball fan. Was a huge NBA fan but my interest has faded a little bit I still watch it. The WNBA I have tried and tried to watch but most of the teams honestly are unwatchable. I wanna give them support because I think they deserve it, but man, to me last night was just the same as in previous years, just non cohesive basketball. I know it’s early but to me it’s always like this. Some teams in certain years play well like some of Mayas teams and Stevie and Sue’s team D’s team when they wine titles, but for the most part I wouldn’t be surprised if the league was no more if it weren’t for the talent infused by Paige and Azzi and others. The college women’s teams play more cohesive than the WNBA teams. The players are left to police their own conditioning and most of them are in terrible shape.... always. Only a small percentage you can tell are in excellent shape. It’s just not as good as I expect it to be. They are hurting themselves.

I think the college games can often look better because their is usually some talent/coaching discrepency between teams that allows at least one of the teams to take advantage of other team weaknesses. Not so in the WNBA except in a few situations like a Stewie or 6-8 posts down low or if we (or at least me) are lucky, Sabrina, Paige, Caitlyn etc. who are true shooters and playmakers together But I love the passion and competition and hope the overall shooting will pick up.

I know I am sometimes the biggest UConn homer, but wow, this comment completely discounts any talent from other schools not named UConn. There will always be a need for good/great players from different schools, so Paige and Azzi won't be the the only ones making a difference.

"The players are left to police their own conditioning and most of them are in terrible shape.... always. Only a small percentage you can tell are in excellent shape."

Says who? 35% of the BY identified in the 65-74 age range, and 86% identified as 40+. I would bet that most of us here have no idea what it takes to get in shape, keep in shape by WNBA standards. Not all of the women can develop arms like Maya or Crystal, just to name a few. Not all post players have the "visual" body type like Tina. DT can shoot the lights out from just about any distance, but does she look "in shape" compared to other players? I guess it depends on how you define "in shape". If you are basing your opinion on what a player looks like, please don't. If players were not in shape, in game shape, they would not make the roster of 12 as there's no way a coach or GM would waste a spot on someone that cannot contribute, especially with this sized roster.

Plum not starting for the Aces, but Riquna Williams is? Man I hope Kelsey can get out of there.

Got a shootout in Seattle. 27-26 Storm thru Q1. Seattle's D is the main reason they won 2 recent Titles. Appears to be non existent now. You can't overstate how much losing Howard and Clark is gonna hurt them on D.

Cambage is in mid season form whining to the refs.

Canada looks good, driving at will. Loyd off to a good start.

Wilson scored at will in Q1.

Seattle was down at least 7 early, maybe more. Rolling in Q2, up 14.

Not impressed w/ Gray. She's put up big stats during her time w/ the Sparks, but when I watch her play I just don't like what I see. More of the same w/ the Aces.

Plum not playing well.

KLS having no impact so far. I don't care what she did in Europe, she has yet to prove she can be a consistent contributor in the W.

Bird and Stewie have gotten going after a slow start.

At 40 Sue is the ageless wonder. She’ll still be knocking down shots in her 60’s.

More Ezi and less Dupree please. Candice started out decent but now is 3-11. Leading the team in FG attempts.

KLS hit a three at 24.2 secs left to stop Aces 8-0 run, Storm 49 - 40 at half.

Wilson and Cambage both in double figures, but it still looks like they don't really mesh together very well.

Cambage will underachieve as always by being distracted about meaningless stuff but Wilson continues to get better and better. Very Impressed with her passion and focus.

+/- isn't everything, but check out Seattle's bench--Canada +10, Talbot +15, Magbegor +18. I think those 3 were all on the floor when they surged ahead in Q2. Some of the starters are pretty lacking when it comes to D, the reserves stepped it up in that category and brought some energy.

Ezi started 2nd half instead of Dupree. Smart.

Quick 10-0 Seattle run to start Q3. 3's still raining.

LV has some funky defensive schemes. They keep getting midgets switched onto post players all the time.
