Ugh....what in the world?!!? 😖
I'm just as perplexed as you are. Why? Jackson is a nice young building block, LA overall is a fairly young team. I don't see them being in "win now" mode. Atkins is a solid player but not that young and has been a bit up and down over the years. Does this make sense to anybody, from LA's perspective?
It makes no basketball sense to me on the part of LA.I'm just as perplexed as you are.
Chelsea Gray said in an interview that she thinks that two-year deals are going to be the most popular this year.I read an article somewhere that said given the short window for free agency, draft choices and pre-season training this year, many stars would sign one-year deals this year to take advantage of the CBA agreement. Then, come back after this season to research, pick and choose.
In the meantime, Jackie Young gets to team up with Ms. Wilson and Gray for another run ...
Well, they did just lose Allemand in the expansion draft, who was Plum's backcourt mate. They don't pick in the draft until the second round. And LA's big weakness last year was defense--and Atkins is one of the premiere defenders in the league. It makes no basketball sense to me on the part of LA.
Guessing the balloon crew got the lead on this news 😉
There's chatter Ogumike is considering a return to LA. 🤔
Sure looks like that's the case. Here's an article on Nneka coming back to LA.Sparks going for the win now approach. Once the Atkins trade goes through, and if reserved player Rae Burell returns. They have a solid starting five on paper. Does Plum at PG full time work?

I do not think it is decided at all.Huh. ESPN didn't get the memo from this board that #1 overall is already decided. 🐸☕

WNBA mock draft 2026: Miles replaces Fudd at projected No. 1
Lauren Betts and three teammates on UCLA's NCAA championship team are projected first-round picks.www.espn.com
There is chatter about a 3 team trade, and Ogunbowale is mentioned. Gonna have to see if it pans out, as with everything hoop related these days.I do not think it is decided at all.
Official WNBA free agent contract signings begin tomorrow (April 11). Hypothetically, if Dallas signs and trades Ogunbowale, the return for her will indicate how the Wings will approach the draft. Or if Dallas is able to sign a strong post player -- someone like Brionna Jones, for example -- that would indicate more of a perimeter focus for the draft.
With the news that Awak Kuier is returning to the WNBA, this signals, to me, that Awa Fam is not going to be taken with the top pick. I do not doubt Fam's talent; I watched her during FIBA qualifying. But Dallas does not want multiple frontcourt players who could sit out seasons for national team commitments.
Meh. Any experts think they needed to sign her so there's stated value in a trade?
I actually love this move for Chicago. I think Jackson's a better (and younger) player with more upside. I could see her being an 18-20 ppg scorer this season for Chicago. The Chicago Sky GM is doing a bang up job. That original Ariel Atkins trade ended up turning into Sonia Citron plus a 2027 first round pick that will undoubtedly be a lottery pick for the Mystics.

I think Betts/Paige is the best combo long term, but I am shocked they re-signed Arike for that high of a price. Arike altered her style of play alongside Paige but it just didn't work well.I am happy the wings re-signed Arike because I think it means they are more likely to draft Betts. And that’s just a no brainer tbh. Passing up Betts will look really foolish for any team bold enough to do so.
