Agreed...hopefully not the highlight of the entire games, but it might be...Highlight of the opening ceremonies for me was Andrea Bocelli performing the Nessun Dorma aria form Puccini's Turandot.
It gave me chills.

She fell and was airlifted off course. Sad.Lindsey Vonn? She is racing today [Sunday] in the downhill...anyone know how she did?
It was a very awkward fall. Looked like she tried to spin in mid-air to cut speed, very peculiar.Lindsey Vonn? She is racing today [Sunday] in the downhill...anyone know how she did?
Maybe she could have competed with the injury at age 25 but at 41, her reflexes are a bit slower and she’s not as strong or agile. The differences may be small but when someone is skiing 75 mph, they could be criticalCongratulations to Breezy Johnson for winning the 1st US gold medal in the women’s downhill. At the same time, I wish someone had been able to step in and persuade/order Lindsey Vonn not to compete with her torn ACL. At high speeds it’s nearly impossible for a skier to hold their line without 2 stable legs. Vonn’s injury today was both tragic and predictable.
I think I've enjoyed watching curling the last few Olympics because it takes me back to when I played table shuffleboard when I was a kid. A similar game, don't see any tables around anymore. Our Little League team in NJ was sponsored by a tavern, back in the 50's. After games we would go to the tavern for free sodas, there was a table there, and they would let us play. Great fun!A good explanation for hocky, but not for curling, which has to be the least impactful sport in the Olympics. FYI, I've done curling and I have friends who are really into it. It is a little harder than it looks.
Beautiful view of the Dolomite Chute, however.I hate the drones! They can be heard at times and just seem a distraction. The point of view they show is constantly changing and it just is dizzying rather than enhancing. I much prefer fixed cameras on towers.
I thought I'd like it more than I actually do. I guess it's too many decades of having the content curated for me and packaged into an evening broadcast. That said I'm on Peacock now watching speed skating.Nice to watch Men’s downhill thus morning with option to rewind.
There is young man from Fairfield competing in freestyle.
Peacock is worth it for me in February.
I love the drone shots, just a tremendous perspective at times - don't like the buzzing sound though.I hate the drones! They can be heard at times and just seem a distraction. I went to college in upper New York State only 20 miles from Canada and watched a lot of Canadian tv. Curling is a big thing up there so I developed a liking for it. It’s great the U.S. is doing so well in this cool sport
Running and cycling is a duathlon. I found out what to look for (can’t swim because of my shoulders) just before my knee finally stopped me from doing either. (Yes, I know this was a joke, just find duathlon a cool word.)
Cory put the hammer down!Great match. Italy is the defending Olympic champions playing before a home crowd. The lady from MN has ice water in her veins. Makes 1 big shot after another. Reminds me of another lady from MN…….
