You have to realize they were playing their 3rd game in 6 days. The way they play defense they are constantly giving 100% effort every possession. Depaul is a good team regardless of their record. It's hard winning on the road in league play. Plus they are missing their superstar That totally changes how they have to play. I look at it as a good win. You win your 3rd straight road game, without your 1 scoring option, giving 100% effort at all times. Players are slowly learning their roles. Martin and Cole are new to their team. They lost their leader from last year(Vital). Whaley seems to be emerging as our leader. The bench is always active and these players seem to all like each other. Polley has cemented himself as a great shooter. This team rebounds like our old 2000's teams. The defense is becoming elite, maybe one of the best in the country. Cole is adjusting. Martin is such a good offensive rebounder. Akok just came back, once he gets going this defense will be even better. I think Akok becomes a decent 3 point shooter. Gaffeny and Adams are solid reserve guards. All this talk about Gaffney. He has shown flashes of being able to take the ball to the hoop. His role is like Austries role in 2009. Run the second unit. Shoot threes when hes open and do the little things on the floor. Plus hes our best free throw shooter behing Bouk. He needs to be in close games at the end so he can go to the line. The Huskies are back. Just enjoy it. It's been a long 5 years of losing. This is a legit Sweet 16 team.
