I can only see 2 possible weaknesses next yr. Depth at the 4/5 obviously one. But I want to talk about the other, i.e. can we replace Bria with someone solid at the 2.

Here's the thing about that. Will Chong step up to the plate? Maybe not. Will Banks be the BB of sophomore year with a little senior maturity to boot? Can't say for sure. Will Gabby be healthy and as good as some folks think? Dunno. Will Ekmark's year off pay off big time. Not necessarily. Will the kid from up north be as good as all the Canadians think? Can't count on it. But will AT LEAST ONE of those things happen? Yeah, I'm pretty sure about THAT. I'm not sure about any of the five players individually, but I feel confident that the best of the five, even the best two will be really solid.

(By the way some folks obviously have seen Kiah as a potential weakness. I don't see it at all but if you're still in that camp nothing I can say will change your mind.)

Whoever fills Hartley's spot will have the luxury of playing with Jefferson, KML, Stewart and Stokes in the starting lineup. It should take a lot of the pressure off that player.
 
Who thinks Kiah is a weakness? Come on now. She has worked her butt off and has earned the trust of the coaching staff which does not come easy. Kiah is awesome and will get more out of this program than most realize. Our front court players of Kiah, Stewie, KML, and Tuck are ridiculously talented and versatile.

Couldn't agree more. But I'vs seen other opinions on this board and want to acknowledge them even if I disagree adamantly.

The enormity of that statement is really amazing when you think about it. Quite a "support staff" for anyone.

The only reason why someone would think Stokes is a weak player is if they look at her lack of scoring (4.5 ppg) and high school ranking. If you take her numbers this year and average it over 30 minutes a night, she'd be grabbing 10+ rebounds and blocking 3+ shots every night. She probably will not be an All-American, but she is a very good post defender, capable finisher inside and excellent rebounder.

She can score. She just needs to take more shots. If she wants to play at the next level she probably knows that.

Chris Dailey said this about Kiah during the FF:

“The only person that can keep her from scoring his herself,” assistant coach Chris Dailey said.
 
The kid from up North has many more folks than just those up North that believe she is really good including the UConn coaching staff. Take the Olympic experience against older competition and given that she is a tall, speedy defensive gnat like the smaller version already in the backcourt I am thinking she is starting sooner rather than later in the season.

I am VERY excited about Kia. I think she will make a huge contribution next year.

I agree...

I have no idea what the stats show but my impression is that she steps up in games that she believes that she is most needed by her team. Next year she will be needed. I think that she'll be the force that most of those around her have known that she could be....

She is just like Diana. :) It is just the thresholds for scoring are different.

Just saying that should A'ja pick UConn, we should remember that posts do take some time to get into the collage game....

We have great people, yes, and we do "practice until we don't get it wrong", but setting manageable expectations is key.

Lets see.... you guys in the past have played against UNC, NC State... and will be playing South Carolina and East Carolina next year.... seems like the only way to go is to schedule Western Carolina, and North Carolina Central in the future.
 
We're losing two AAs. The offense runs thru Dolson and she is the leading rebounder. Bria is the second leading scorer. And Uconn will not be as good as this year's legendary team. That said-yes we will go undefeated and eventually break the 90 consecutive wins streak the following year.

What if Stewart is another 10-15% better. And KML loses a few lbs and is in great shape playing like a first team AA. And Jefferson is even more improved.

Does that make up for the lose of Dolson and Hartley? Some.

What if Tuck is back and playing like she did the last game she played where she scored 19 points?

What if Stokes gets more aggressive on offense along with her dd rebounding and 3 blocks a game?

What of Chong gets the sophomore bump and plays like it?

Does that make up for the loss of Dolson and Hartley? Some more.

What if the 4 freshman are terrific and 2-3 make the regular rotation and Nurse is the first guard off the bench?

Does that make up for Dolson and Hartley? Even more.

They will be different but by the end of the year they could be just as dominate.

I wouldn't count too much on incoming freshmen even if that includes AW. Geno doesn't. I think the bigger concern or impact would come from a healthy Tuck. If she is healthy she is a player that can play many roles. If Chong doesn't step it up or Banks become more consistent we could see a starting lineup of Stewart, Stokes, KML, Tuck and Jefferson.
 
OK let's start putting unreasonable (?) pressure on Geno right now (before the parade).

How about, "10 in 15"?
