The lineup that brought it to 10 at half and shut ISU down for the last 7 minutes of the first half was:

Boatright
Bazz
Lamb
Roscoe
Oriakhi

I don't get it. Why would you not play him at all? Heck, they cut it to 6 playing Roscoe on White most of the second half, then switch Drummond on him the last 5 minutes and it balloons to 13. What was Calhoun thinking?

AO was not good, but I agree with you. Drummond was completely useless in a game like this.

Oriakhi was almost UConn's leading rebounder, playing a total of what 15 minutes?

Unreal. What is JC thinking? My guess, something happened in the locker room at halftime. This is no time for lessons, JC.

Depriving the fans of Connecticut a chance for a win simply by making a personal statement to AO is unacceptable.

I hate to speculate, but I think AO is gone next year, one way or another. It's pretty clear his family doesn't like Calhoun and benching him the entire 2nd half might've been the last straw.

lol, I upped my post from the Cuse game, AO didn't deserve to get tted on like this. AD was completely ineffective, there was no reason for AO to be glued to the bench. I feel sorry for him.

Really would like to know why he was benched - this is the part of the game that leaves me scratching my head.

Who cares. Calhoun never connected with this team at all.

That's funny ......the guy got worst as a junior and it's on Calhoun...what a joke you are!!

He doesn't rebound, play D (who was he going to guard?) and cant finish a post move but let's make sure we blame JC for not putting that guy in...wow

Right, I guess Calhoun lost his ability to coach in less than a year.

Some of the posters on this board are downright (I will be nice) silly

AO had his lapses. But he is your veteran. He should have been in the game. If he was a freshman, I can see the lessons or whatever. Unless AO said/did something "unprofessional" to JC, I just cannot justify how JC handled his situation.

Having said that, I fully support ALL the players. No need to pick on one or a few for lack of effort or whatever. I thank them for coming to UConn and will be rooting for them always.

Something must have happened. Oriakhi had no fouls, zero. He wasn't having a "good" game but he was doing something right and at the least would have given Drummond a breather. Instead whenever Calhoun took Roscoe or Drummond out he put in Olander or Giffey. I like both Olander and Giffey but...

BTW sorry I missed the first thread on this.

Calhoun couldn't connect with this team because they so rarely demonstrated toughness and intensity, it wasn't in their character.

Guys who demonstrated JC qualities: Boat, Bazz, Roscoe, Giff

And those guys were all plagued by mental mistakes all season.

Lamb, Drummond, AO, Daniels didn't show the toughness JC demands. It's that simple.

He may not have been great out there, but he seriously was almost the leading rebounder (albeit at 3) with only about 15 or less first half minutes. He could have defended Efim.

He couldnt defend me nevermind Efim.......c'mon Alex was as lost as Andre and they are the key reasons UConn was painful to watch all year....THE 2 biggest reasons period!!!! One wasn't as good as advertised the other wasnt as good as last year!!!

Right on. I can't believe people are wondering why AO didn't play the second half.....I mean, did you see his d in the first?

Did you watch the game?
