BU isn’t in the Bahamas, BC is.The hand writing is on the wall. When UCONN beats Oregon St, and either Mississippi U. or Boston U, who we have already beat, Uconn will be N.o.1 . I am watching S.Carolina now. Back to the game.
The margin of victory over the only ranked opponent (#15 North Carolina) UConn has beaten so far was not as impressive as double digit wins over top five teams. The most impressive thing about the FDU game was the number of WNBA players coming back to sit through a 44 point blow out.So you’re not impressed with UConn’s 44 pt win over Farleigh Dickinson?
How can we get so wound up? This is the Boneyard. Most of us don’t have a life outside UConn WBB from November to April.Yap,yap, yap! How can you get so wound up about who's ranked #1 at this point in the season? I think the bigger deal is that these other ranked teams play in the strongest leagues, and will benefit from all that competition in a way that UConn can't. Of course, nothing can be done about that.
UCLA beat UConn last season. My thoughts exactly. I said in an earlier post that S.Carolina was beatable and they should be NO.1 until they lost. Well they lost and now it's UCONN's turn. UCLA is formidable but SC hasn't the defense that UCONN has , so I believe that we can prevail. Has UCLA ever beat UCONN? We should be NO.1 next week and if not ,by the week after we will be. GO FRESHMEN!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!
That was last season, UConn is a completely different team this year. I believe that UConn only played 6 players in that game, they can play at least 11 right now.UCLA beat UConn last season.
Agreed. A win over 16th ranked NC isn't enough to move UConn past UCLA and ND. Weekend games very entertaining and should give fans an idea of just what Geno is going to face this year.It will be interesting. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if Uconn dropped a spot behind both UCLA and Notre Dame with South Carolina 4th. Beating #3 on the road is almost as impressive as UCLA beating #1 at home. Beating North Carolina on the road is something but doesn't compare to the wins this weekend in my opinion.
Optimism please... In my short term futurescope I see a loss to ND at South Bend, but a win over USC at home. Then more long term I see a close win over SC in Columbia. I don't see UCLA on the schedule until perhaps the tournament so that's a good thing. We are now well and truly doomed I say.
In what universe does it make sense to punish UConn and drop them in the poll? UCLA jumping to #1, OK. But what does that have to do with UConn?UConn doesn’t play again until after the polls close, so I would expect this weekend’s winners to get the bulk of the votes. My guess is UCLA gets the #1 slot with ND as #2 and UConn dropping to #3.
