OT: Which pro playoffs are the best?

Please explain how watching grown men running around for 3 hours chasing a ball, kicking each other and falling down in faked pain, generally not scoring at all, and ending a tied championship game with a kick off rather than sudden death is exciting, and not completely boring.
There’s nuance, incredible durability and stamina, national pride like you don’t see in other sports, instances of strength and physicality vs brain and strategy, etc. It’s called “The Beautiful Game” for a reason.

Your post just shows that the worldwide caricature of stupid American fans is really not that far off unfortunately.

Although my grandfather tried to make me a soccer fan, I unfortunately was one of those first generation children of immigrants who cared more about being American than being proud of my heritage. He even brought me to Pele’s final Cosmos game great seat and I just never appreciated it as much as I should have.

Anyway maybe 8-9 years ago one of my sons wanted the soccer FIFA game for his PS. After he got it, I ended up playing it with him a lot.

I don’t play much anymore but the FIFA EA soccer game became my favorite game to play over taking Madden. Not sure how it happened but it did, so now I watch more soccer. Really wish the men’s team would be more competitive. If they had a chance I know I would watch more but I will still watch the World Cup.

Don’t watch the US if you don’t feel like you have to (me). It is really not a fun watch.

Pick an EPL squad.

Personal insults are not necessary. I could have said the same about you and all of the fans that happen to like soccer, but chose to be polite. That being said, I would call it the "Dumb" game because anyone can play it.

That’s not a personal insult. The caricature of our fans that don’t understand or care to understand the game and think of it as an easy, wussy sport is accurate in your post. That’s just a fact.

That clarification would have been better stated than "the worldwide caricature of stupid American fans." I think the sentiments stated in my post would be agreed upon by many Americans who dislike soccer and choose not watch it because of those stated observations. That being said, I hope you enjoy the World cup. I will not be watching a single minute of it.

Pick an EPL squad.
It would be Chelsea if I did. If I see them playing I will stop and watch for awhile. I have had friends say if you spent anytime living in an area of England that has. Premier League regular team you will become a fan for life because the passion is a bit contagious. But most of my opinion/feelings are based on uniforms and my PS experience I think there is a squad from Everton…I liked playing for them in career mode in FIFA and I know there used to be a big Chelsea v Arsenal rivalry.

Because it's only 90 minutes of constant action. I don't care about people who don't like soccer. Not everyone appreciates the skill involved in controlling the ball and the progression, and that's OK.

To be fair, the World Cup is an entirely separate event. Much different than regular playoffs.

MLB playoffs, although I do not like the changes they have made over the past few years.

UEFA Champions League. Again, I do not like the changes and expansion they have done but the product is still very good.

World Cup and Euro Cup are a class of their own. Pretty perfect, but FIFA and UEFA are doing their best to try and ruin a good thing.

I have become a casual fan of the NFL.
I personally love the pitch clock, limits on throwing to first, and pitching change limits though. It’s so much more enjoyable to watch the high intensity situations when the pitchers are actually... pitching. lol. Playoff games were 4+ hours. The Yankees/Red Sox winner take all was 2:30.

The pitch clock and pitchers not being allowed to constantly throw over to first along with batters not being able to constantly step out of the box are great changes. Relievers having to face three batters or completing the half inning is a great change.

The ghost runner is awful and I'm glad that's not a part of the playoffs.

I agree with the changes to pitching. I do not like the ghost runner, home field advantage in wild card round, the shift change, or the expansion.

EPL-- nothing makes a regular season more meaningful than no playoffs

I like the MLB playoffs most, even though I'm a Mets fan.

Like almost everyone else, I find the NBA playoffs far too long and crowded.

NFL playoffs are ok, but I never liked the bye system.

I don't follow hockey or soccer.

MLB. Hockey is close but too many 7 game series and they screwed up the format. NBA way too long. NFL eh…..it’s fine but I can miss games if it’s not the giants and not care.

March Madness is the best by far!

I think I agree with this whole post.

Im a fan of all pro sports. If you dont have a team to root for, NHL playoffs are the best to watch. If you do, then I would say it depends on the team .
