I haven't been watching the forum very much this season. Did SNY lose the UCONN games ? I heard them saying they only had a couple of games left.

It was hard to watch all the "tears" coming from the U of Ct leadership since it all came down to only one thing - Greed/Money.
The value added to the new Big East/Fox arrangement by UCONN Women's Basketball is a drop in the bucket compared to the overall revenue. Yes, it is the most significant part of the Conference Women's BB but there is still value w/o the Husky Women. Local fan bases for all the other teams, while far short of U of Ct. is still worth something; e.g Neb/Iowa area for Creighton and Philly locale for Nova, but the Huskies carry the big stick.
Ultimately the U of Ct leadership decided that they wanted in on the bigger $$$ by opting into the Fox deal rather than staying with the superior coverage from SNY, so I felt all the "sorry to see you go, SNY" was disingenuous.
The fan base loses (or as Tonyc would say, looses).

.-.
Question about Peacock: Is there a way to watch later if one is tied up during the game? Do they keep the game around for a day or two like Fox, or is there something akin to a DVR option?

TIA

So for those in the nyc metro area I assume fox will not block us from watching since SNY is no longer broadcasting. Is this a correct assumption

I don't know about a DVR option. I do know you can watch replays, but I don't know how long they stay up for or if there are any limitations. At this very moment, I can log into Peacock and see the replay for the UConn MBB game vs Butler from January 21, so they do keep them around for a little while.

But who knows how things will shake out next year.

So I think the article says Fox. But is that the major fox network or Fox Sports / FS1 / FS2? Does anyone know? We are switching tv providers and now i need to make sure we get those channels!!

.-.
I just hope that all the women's games will be available. Will Fox, NBC, and TNT care about broadcasting blow-outs against lesser BE teams?
Seems unlikely. The new contract covers 65 games which is about a third of all the conference games. We thought SNY might still be in the picture, but based on yesterday's game it sure seems like they know they are done after this season.

Yes. I haven't used it yet, but it does exist.

Correct. You will just need to have access to whomever is caring the game. Could be Fox, FS1, FS2, NBC, Peacock, TNT, or TBS, (and possibly CBS Sportsnet for a game or 2.)

Yes... Fox will, be doing them. I hope all of them. No Flosports (I hope!)
In the earlier thread that I posted here, there’s no mention of FloSports, so...

Also MAX is included as a new carrier...

Games can be on any of the Fox channels - Fox, FS1, FS2 - plus NBC, Peacock, TBS, TNT.

How many of the UConn Women's games be covered? I believe that a majority if not all of them will be covered next year. If every team must be shown at least once, the higher ups would most likely use UConn to show Xavier, Butler, Providence, St. John's, Georgetown, so that there would be a higher viewership, UConn is the driving force of the Big East Women's basketball.

That's a good point. The UConn men's team might be an example -- as far as I know, Fox has broadcast every single UConn men's Big East game on one of its channels, even though they probably aren't contractually obligated to do so. But as the two time NCAA Champions, and with a colorful coach made for television, they can be counted on to draw an audience.

All those factors (substitute "11 time champions" for "2 time reigning champions") apply equally well to the UConn women's team.

We are so spoiled with SNY. No more pre-game and post-game and no more specials like the excellent The Foundation.
What a shame.
You are fortunate to have been able to receive SNY since they limit their content to a specific region. Thankfully, they did allow Fox Digital to stream the games that they broadcast nationally, but they would not allow Fox to show the pre-game or post-game content.... always wished to be able to see that...

Fox already has the broadcasting rights to the BE. It's just a new contract for next year and beyond. That's why the men are on Fox channels this year, either Fox or FS1, but there have been games this year on Peacock and CBSSN as well.

I wonder if Fox also has it in the television contract that they are able to stream it on FoxSports like they have done over the past few years with SNY. If you look at the women's games that they have on the app it's more than just UConn.

The Fox Sports App currently livestreams sporting events being broadcasted on your local Fox network, FS1, FS2 and the B1G network.
I'm not sure if they stream anything else as a Fox XTRA channel, which is where the current UConn games are streamed live and are replayed. I don't recall ever seeing any other event on the app using the channel.
Even though the thread topic will probably be repeated multiple times between now and over the next off season, no one will probably know the actual answer until next season's schedule is made public.
