Yes good question especially considering this is the exact opposite of the message Ray Allen delivered to the team just this past Monday. It is a glimpse into SN mindset...people talk to him but he's got his own mind on things already and does not listen. He has to make an adjustment on many levels or the program will move on without him.

All he did was say the same things people on here wanted to say all year. Question is who did he direct the comments at? My guess - Boat and Drummond

 The kid has a lot to learn. He should have waited .6 seconds more before shooting,

Unbelievable!

That shot was ridiculous! We needed it so bad... but from the looks of the bench, the guys didn't seem overly excited. Could this be from SN's lashing? Or maybe the players don't really see him as "captain?" Hope not.

They were held back because there was time on the clock............they were excited no need to look into something that does not exist....

Exactly, if they rushed the floor, there would have been a T, which seeing how this season has went so far, wouldn't have been surprising. It was a very mature reaction by UConn.

Mind numbing. Simply mind numbing.

I was pissed when he took it because there were like 3 seconds still left...but I can't argue with the result!

All the missed FT's, Drummond's Roscoe-like heave, terrible officiating...and we win anyway.

Agreed. He should have taken another dribble down court in theory. However, he is right, if you have the range, it's easier to take a long open shot than a closer guarded one. He showed a pure stroke from there so it was the right shot. Guys like Reggie miller and chuck person that hit shots like that regularly would agree. Shabazz isn't very tall either making his decision even more appropriate. That shot oozes with confidence and I think it will help him going forward.

That shot looks like a good decision more and more every time I watch it. Boat and Lamb were too far away and would not have gotten off a good shot on time. He only had 5.4 seconds.

Last night was hardly a work of art, but at least they were less hesitant to shoot all around. Beats watching them dribble between half court and the 3 point line for 30 seconds like they did for the last 4 minutes of regulation.

At least Napier has attempted to take the leadership role. He is also right the team has quit in a few games once they fell behind. The second half of Lousville and the last 5 minutes of the Syracuse game are examples of quitting. I really like the players and this years UCONN team, but they have been difficult to watch at times.,

It was a bad shot. It was the wrong decision. He was saved by the fact it went in. He got the ball, jogged up the court, and made a lucky shot. The smart move would have been to go as fast as possible from the inbounds to the basket. Force the defense to stop you, foul you, or make you miss a layup. The Nova guard got up the court in 5.5 seconds for a layup, Bazz could have too.

I said it in another thread, but i'll repeat it here. No matter the result, if he had went to the hoop hard, nobody would have argued he should have stopped for a 35 foot pull up jumper instead.

But, it went in. Thank God. Hopefully we make some more Saturday, we'll need them.

I may be in the minority here, but I did not think it was a bad shot. Bazz has shown he can hit from deep beyond the line, he was in rhythm, and wide the hell open. I thought it looked good leaving his hand. I really thought it had a very good chance of going in. Right on target!
The bottom line is it went in and the puppies got a much needed win.

To be fair to Shabazz, I'm not sure he was capable of going a whole lot harder than what you saw. I think it was less a choice and more a physical limitation.

If that's the case, then the ball should have been passed to Boatright who was right next to him on the inbounds, and Bazz did the best he could.

The problem is I think back to the Marquette game where he was begging guys to run up the court with him, and I have to believe he was capable of going harder, especially with the adrenaline pumping in a late game situation.

I'm honestly just glad that we can debate as to whether it was a good or bad shot. Because if he missed it, there would be no debate.

It was clearly a bad shot. The question is could we have gotten a better shot -- and I don't know the answer to that.

You clearly don't understand how this board works. You can not say "I don't know the answer to that." You're supposed to make a wild assed guess and treat it like it is an infallible statement of an incontrovertible fact.

Don't worry -- you'll get the hang of it.
