It's not whining when you win.

This crew was awful, especially when the game mattered. The missed face mask on Hopkins that flew his helmet off would have ended the game.

Near phantom call on the late hit on Tulsa's second to the last drive when they scored the TD.

That was definitely a crown to helmet hit against Shirreffs in 1st half. Good chance that turns in to a TD with 1st and goal from the 1/2 yard line.

Last play of the game was a joke that they let a snap get off and there was a hold on Tulsa as they tackled one of UConn's D Lineman as QB rolled left.

The moment and the game were definitely too much for the crew.

And there were a few more egregious calls and missed calls as well.

Looked like s high school crew that got thrown into a D1 game. Awful. Being that you need to be set before the snap pretty tough to get that play off.

At the game, with the naked eye, I thought they were horrible. After just re-watching the few, specific plays that stuck out to me, I now KNOW those refs were horrible!!

Agreed - they need to be called out!

Ignoring everything else...and that’s hard to do...giving a team a free play at the end of the game is punishable by firing squad.

I’m going full Mick Cronin and stating that you simply cannot get set and snap the ball in one second.

That was !%*!%*!%* insane. No way that could or should have happened. Thank god the defense held there.

When we get back to winning consistently you can bet that the officiating crews will be out for blood against us

Crap conference, crap zebras, crap conference office administration.

How about this for some comparison, from C-USA no less. At a BB game between Houston and UAB, the refs made a call that Tom Penders objected to. Then he fell to the floor. The zebras thought he was trying to show them up, so they called a tech on him. But he really had fainted, so badly they carried him off the court on a stretcher, and he never returned for the second half. No matter, refs let the call stand. Two made free throws for UAB. They ended up winning the game by one point. The conference office suspended the entire officiating crew. They likely never reffed a C-USA game for the remainder of their careers.

The college rule is so stupid. You shouldn't stop the clock for a first down in bounds. It drives me nuts and it devalues timeouts.
Stick with the NFL rule and keep that clock running unless the runner goes out of bounds

Agreed. You can even throw in the two-minute warning as a compromise. Clock should always be ticking when tackled inbounds.

Whenever I see an argument like this I can't help but think, watch in the next few games we'll benifit from it.

After they were somehow inexplicably able place the ball, line up, snap the ball all within 1 second, was anyone else absolutely certain that the floater he threw was going to be completed and we'd lose on the PAT? It's deflating just thinking about it.

Luckily, we pulled it out. There's a lot of things the refs should have done and a lot of things we could have done to have prevented that play from ever happening or ever mattering.

The fact is that after giving up 70 points to Memphis, I think in past years we may have just rolled over and died for a couple of weeks. That didn't happen.

You could say that Temple and Tulsa aren't very good teams and you wouldn't be wrong, but this team didn't quit and this team is improving.

We are going to play a game in nearly November at the Rent that actually matters in terms of getting a bowl bid.

The rest of the schedule is difficult. Mizzou (though down, still an SEC team), USF, @ UCF, Fenway BC and @ Cincinnati.

I'm not sure there are 3 wins in there. Hell, I don't know whether there are 2 wins in there.

I do know the offense looks better than we've seen in ages and the defense looks to be improving as well.

As others have said before, adults are running the program again and it looks like we are digging ourselves out of a deep hole.

It was at least 3 seconds from the point that the official spotted the ball to when the ball was snapped. The clock should have started the moment the spotting official moved away from the ball. That should be the rule for starting the clock, not the referee cranking the arm.

Interestingly, Of the next 4 games the SEC game may be the most winnable on paper. A weak SEC team not accustomed to travel to the northeast.

There is still a chance that the Cindy game could be for a bowl. Get by Missouri and find a way to win 1 of the next three.

If you are going to let the offense line up, get in a stance and then wind the clock (essentially acting as if they are set immediately) then you should let the defense do the same, a couple of the Huskies were just getting in place and turning around when the ball was snapped.
