What a mess if that was a score. Would it count? What's up with those refs. Did anyone see RE run out on the field after the game to confront the refs and give them a piece of his mind. Good on him.

I enjoy college football but don't know all the positions do or all the rules, but I do know there is no 4th and 2.

Tulsa got away with a lot.

I did yelled at a young man a few rows down, who, for the second week did not remove his cap for the National Athem. He seemed shocked that he had a hat on, took it off immediately. I wonder if he sleeps with it on? Will watch him next game to see what he does.

I told my son if I yell at someone, do not interfere if I get in trouble as i am a big girl and can take care of myself.

Confront them?

I swear I saw Randy physically grab one by the arm while he was yelling. The ref freed himself and started to jog away and then Randy ran after him and grabbed him again by the arm. I loved it and I thought the ref deserved it, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't actually worried for Randy that the league would do something bad to him for it. I'm glad we haven't heard anything about it since then, because again, the refs deserved it...

Do you know me? Aren't you telling me what to do? I don't know you.
this is a discussion board. the sole intention is to discuss things and reply to people. it's not comparable to sticking your nose into someone elses business and yelling at them

What about when we stopped them at the goal line on third and goal and they got a first down?

I call bull crap on the official statement by the AAC. Garbage calls all day long.

The hit to the head of Shirreffs was terrible and the reversal was the worse call I have seen in a very long time

Ok so they take away the targeting (which it was), but at least call a personal foul for that hit to the head. Instead they just made believe nothing happened!

I thought for sure that was a TD from my seat. The targeting call wouldn’t have mattered much. What did look like on TV?

I was screaming at the top of my lungs when that call was missed my wife came down thinking there was some kind of emergency (technically there was, the team may have been handed a loss they deserved to win if not for the officials - thank goodness it turned out well in the end). The right line judge and head ref were literally staring right at the infraction.

With those two blatant non-calls, the officials put all the kids in danger. A helmet coming off should be automatically reviewed. If it pops off during the natural course of the play, no harm, no foul, but a face mask like that is not a subjective judgement call.

So I watched the highlights like 10 times. Between the second to last and final play, the Tulsa receiver is just kinda shmucking around and then tosses the ball out of the shot to I assume a ref who is way away from the play. I suppose that’s how they got to the line in time but isn’t that a delay of game if you’re purposely delaying the next play? How were the refs letting that happen? What is the offense’s obligation to get to the line re:time? I remember there was some discussion that Navy was sitting on the rusher for too long allowing the clock to expire last year and there is something in the rules about these situations.

Clock stops on a first down and doesn't start until the Ref gives the signal. So it is feasible for both 1) The offense to line up before the Back judge spotting the ball and the ref starts the clock or 2) The Back Judge spots the ball and starts the clock before the offense lines up. The offense must be set for 1 second before snapping the ball. Apparently that can happen without the clock moving.

Like most homers, I see a negative bias in officials, but I think it is especially egregious when it comes to UConn over the last 7 years. At least since they beat WVU and took the inside track to the Fiesta Bowl. It just seems that the borderline call always go against UConn, as if they don't belong and the NCAA, at all levels, is going to make sure they know.

Now obviously that is a conspiracy theory. Occam's Razor on the other hand, indicates that UConn was overseen by incompetent coaches.

To me missing the face ask was actually worse since it was just so blatant. I mean, the defender grabs it yanks it off and the tosses the helmet aside. It wasn’t a case were a hand accidentally got hooked on the mask as sometimes happens. He had it and yanked. That would be an automatic 1st down and game, set, match.
