Shades of the 2014 AAC tournament. Louisville beat us for the third time that year but I bet they would like to trade 2014 trophies. Bouknight not having to play tomorrow may be a blessing in disguise.

This team needs to learn to win before big time success will come. They battle, but don't have that winning attitude. That's why this tournament was important.

Our best player (this year's Shabazz) is obviously Bouknight and he appeared to be playing at 60% at best. The dehydration issues cost us big time. That is what we need to make sure doesn't happen again.

It’s been a while when real expectations to win It all was back. Let them all have this one. We win some and we lose some but we always get better. The NCAA will further season the returning players. We can take back the conference as early as next year. After that we get #5. We are the only Big East school that can say that.

I agree Bouk is our best player, but go back and watch 2014. Shabazz just had “it“ as a collegiate player. Dagger after dagger. Is Bouk more athletic and skilled? I’d argue yes 100%. Will Bouk be a better pro, again yes, probably. But down the stretch of this game we made 0...ZERO FG the final 6 min. Would have been a good time for Bouk to take over and get a bucket (or make a front end free throw) even at 60%.

This is just my frustration speaking, but I’d love nothing more than someone on this team prove me wrong. Let’s dance and take out some teams who thought they were hot stuff, and ride that momentum how ever far it takes us.

i agree with you, 20ppg first-team all conference on a third-place Big East squad speaks for itself. Bouk CAN be that guy. But since the OP alludes to “shades of 2014” I’m comparing apples to apples and challenging this year’s Bouk/team to be 2014 first-team all-America Bazz...not sophomore Bazz. I also hope Bouk doesn’t have both his eyes on the draft quite yet because we need him to continue to be great.

Bouk has gotta be Bouk again pre-injury if we're gonna make a run in the big dance. He's had spurts of highlight film-level play but his cramps & fatigue has overtaken him lately. It's concerning. He looked awful (for him) last night.
