I wouldn't lose any sleep if this were true. His recruitment has become a circus, and it wouldn't surprise me if there's some shadiness going on with the AAU clowns.

I would be far more upset if UConn lost out on Cassell Jr.

If UConn has backed off Kasongo (and that is highly questionable) he may have opened up his recruiting beyond UConn and Oregon.

Remember all of the coaches flocking in to see him, as reported by Zags, even once tweeting that KO was in KY to see him when KO was actually in Cali watching '15 & '16 kids. Owootoah's lone offer was Fresno State, it was a hype job crafted by Owootoah's team and Zags.

Honestly, if Kasongo hadn't taken an official, I would think it's the same thing.
