As the title says what records and rankings could be topped this year? Obviously single game and season records are always on the table at this stage, but a couple of ones I have an eye on:

With a full year of starts, Fagnano could break into top 4 in career passing TDs (20->37), maybe top 2 in single season (20->23). Going higher than either of those thresholds would require a pretty special year in an expected run leaning offense.
Strong passing yard marks could reasonably put him in the career top 10 (1,804->3,802 | 4,179 for 7th), and that would sneak him into the top 9 for a single season as well (1,631->2,367).

With the run game being by committee, stats can be hard to predict, but with Edwards getting the bulk of the carries as the lead back he could crack top 10 in single season rushing (830->1,099), placing him top 7 for a career (1,450->2,515).
Rushing TD numbers will be even more spread out, but a top 10 single season (8->12 | 14 for top 5) would get him to 8th all time (12->24).

With a top 10 receiving yards season (860–>1,004), Bell would also be top 10 career (860->1,788). 9 receiving TDs cracks top 3 for a single season and that would put Bell tied for 7th with 14.

Would love to hear some defense and single game predictions.

Can’t forget special teams records too, Freeman will almost definitely break into top 8 career FGs made (20->27). He could end up as high as 3rd (39) or 2nd (45) which would tie him with Teggart for a single season high (25).

With NIL and talented players transferring to where the grass is greener, finishing atop the career record totals in any sport is going to be rare. Most of those at the top of the leader boards played at least three years and usually four at the same school, pre-NIL and penalty-free transfers. Single season records is another story, though someone who eclipses a current leader will probably be tempted to go elsewhere. Sad, but true.

While I would agree generally, the benefit of having a comparatively young and we will say inconsistent program to put it nicely, is the record books are not packed with historical careers, especially when it comes to offense. This allows for players we will see this season and the next couple of years to leave their names in record books without the need for 4 productive seasons. I think most of the career leaderboards I outlined will certainly have a number of newcomers under Mora’s leadership if it continues the way it has. To be the leader of career categories will require special players and special careers, but being in the record books in anyway is fun to watch and an accomplishment.

I know you're talking about individual records, but I'll throw this in because it was my first thought when I saw your thread subject: how about an all time FBS first of a 10 win regular season!!
That would be a first in program history.

A healthy Skyler Bell with Fagnano starting will only be limited in production by how good the other receivers are!

As an update to this post Game 1, Joe is now the sole holder of #10 in career passing TDs with 23, breaking the 20 TD tie with Irv Panciera. Next up are Cornelius Benton and Zeke Rodgers (24) and Chandler Whitmer (25).

Cornelius Benton was a very athletic qb we had in the early 90's.

I am prepared to be the recipient of thumbs down, but here goes: As long as UConn includes tickets “distributed” to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth football teams, players, coaches, administrators, ad nauseum, they might break the season attendance record.

I'd prefer he breaks the extra point record rather then the field goal record.

Hard to update this thread after losses, but… in Week 2 Skyler broke 1,100 yard threshold for his career. And after Week 3, Joe passed Cornelius Benton and Zeke Rodgers (24) at and tied Chandler Whitmer (25) at #7 in career passing TDs. Cam is 233 yards away from cracking top 10 for a career and still 7 TDs away as well (Rosa is 5 as well).

After the Ball St. win, Joe's single TD gave him sole possession of #7 in career passing TDs with 26, with next up being Bryant Shirreffs (who was always one of my favorites) with 30.

Edwards' 194 and 2 TDs gave him a single game career high in yards, 500 yards on the season, 39 yards from cracking the top 10 for career rushing yards (Jeff Gallaher, 1989), and tied him with Rosa in career rushing TDs (17).

Bell's 14 for 113 with 1 TD gave him a single game career high in receptions for the 2nd time this year and tying him for the program's 2nd highest mark with Keith Hugger (Delaware, 1981) and Noel Thomas (Syracuse, 2016). I did not initially think Bell was going to be a serious contender for career receptions (50 in 2024, 86 currently) with only two years, but if he can continue at even a lesser version of the impressive usage he has for the whole season, he could squeak into the top 10 surpassing current WR coach Kashif Moore at 126.

Freeman's 6/7 (85.7%, would be 3rd highest for a season) on FGs this year has moved him one outside the top 8 in career FGM (Marc Hickok, 27). and continued to solidify his top spot in career FG% (78.8%) with Bobby Puyol behind him (76.5%).

With respect to what a full season would look like at these paces 1/3 of the way through the season (though considering the competition I would imagine these paces are not upheld).

Fagnano:
2025: 3,138 yards (3rd), 18 TDs (8th)
Career: 4,942 yards (7th), 38 TDs (4th)

Bell:
2025: 108 receptions (1st),1,335 yards (2nd), 9 TDs (3rd)
Career: 158 receptions (9th), 2,195 yards (9th) 14 TDs (7th)

Edwards:
2025: 1,500 yards (3rd), 15 TDs (4th)
Career: 2,950 yards (4th), 27 TDs (5th)
