As the title says what records and rankings could be topped this year? Obviously single game and season records are always on the table at this stage, but a couple of ones I have an eye on:

With a full year of starts, Fagnano could break into top 4 in career passing TDs (20->37), maybe top 2 in single season (20->23). Going higher than either of those thresholds would require a pretty special year in an expected run leaning offense.
Strong passing yard marks could reasonably put him in the career top 10 (1,804->3,802 | 4,179 for 7th), and that would sneak him into the top 9 for a single season as well (1,631->2,367).

With the run game being by committee, stats can be hard to predict, but with Edwards getting the bulk of the carries as the lead back he could crack top 10 in single season rushing (830->1,099), placing him top 7 for a career (1,450->2,515).
Rushing TD numbers will be even more spread out, but a top 10 single season (8->12 | 14 for top 5) would get him to 8th all time (12->24).

With a top 10 receiving yards season (860–>1,004), Bell would also be top 10 career (860->1,788). 9 receiving TDs cracks top 3 for a single season and that would put Bell tied for 7th with 14.

Would love to hear some defense and single game predictions.

Can’t forget special teams records too, Freeman will almost definitely break into top 8 career FGs made (20->27). He could end up as high as 3rd (39) or 2nd (45) which would tie him with Teggart for a single season high (25).

With NIL and talented players transferring to where the grass is greener, finishing atop the career record totals in any sport is going to be rare. Most of those at the top of the leader boards played at least three years and usually four at the same school, pre-NIL and penalty-free transfers. Single season records is another story, though someone who eclipses a current leader will probably be tempted to go elsewhere. Sad, but true.

While I would agree generally, the benefit of having a comparatively young and we will say inconsistent program to put it nicely, is the record books are not packed with historical careers, especially when it comes to offense. This allows for players we will see this season and the next couple of years to leave their names in record books without the need for 4 productive seasons. I think most of the career leaderboards I outlined will certainly have a number of newcomers under Mora’s leadership if it continues the way it has. To be the leader of career categories will require special players and special careers, but being in the record books in anyway is fun to watch and an accomplishment.

I know you're talking about individual records, but I'll throw this in because it was my first thought when I saw your thread subject: how about an all time FBS first of a 10 win regular season!!
That would be a first in program history.

.-.
A healthy Skyler Bell with Fagnano starting will only be limited in production by how good the other receivers are!

As an update to this post Game 1, Joe is now the sole holder of #10 in career passing TDs with 23, breaking the 20 TD tie with Irv Panciera. Next up are Cornelius Benton and Zeke Rodgers (24) and Chandler Whitmer (25).

Cornelius Benton was a very athletic qb we had in the early 90's.

I am prepared to be the recipient of thumbs down, but here goes: As long as UConn includes tickets “distributed” to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth football teams, players, coaches, administrators, ad nauseum, they might break the season attendance record.

I'd prefer he breaks the extra point record rather then the field goal record.

Hard to update this thread after losses, but… in Week 2 Skyler broke 1,100 yard threshold for his career. And after Week 3, Joe passed Cornelius Benton and Zeke Rodgers (24) at and tied Chandler Whitmer (25) at #7 in career passing TDs. Cam is 233 yards away from cracking top 10 for a career and still 7 TDs away as well (Rosa is 5 as well).

.-.
After the Ball St. win, Joe's single TD gave him sole possession of #7 in career passing TDs with 26, with next up being Bryant Shirreffs (who was always one of my favorites) with 30.

Edwards' 194 and 2 TDs gave him a single game career high in yards, 500 yards on the season, 39 yards from cracking the top 10 for career rushing yards (Jeff Gallaher, 1989), and tied him with Rosa in career rushing TDs (17).

Bell's 14 for 113 with 1 TD gave him a single game career high in receptions for the 2nd time this year and tying him for the program's 2nd highest mark with Keith Hugger (Delaware, 1981) and Noel Thomas (Syracuse, 2016). I did not initially think Bell was going to be a serious contender for career receptions (50 in 2024, 86 currently) with only two years, but if he can continue at even a lesser version of the impressive usage he has for the whole season, he could squeak into the top 10 surpassing current WR coach Kashif Moore at 126.

Freeman's 6/7 (85.7%, would be 3rd highest for a season) on FGs this year has moved him one outside the top 8 in career FGM (Marc Hickok, 27). and continued to solidify his top spot in career FG% (78.8%) with Bobby Puyol behind him (76.5%).

With respect to what a full season would look like at these paces 1/3 of the way through the season (though considering the competition I would imagine these paces are not upheld).

Fagnano:
2025: 3,138 yards (3rd), 18 TDs (8th)
Career: 4,942 yards (7th), 38 TDs (4th)

Bell:
2025: 108 receptions (1st),1,335 yards (2nd), 9 TDs (3rd)
Career: 158 receptions (9th), 2,195 yards (9th) 14 TDs (7th)

Edwards:
2025: 1,500 yards (3rd), 15 TDs (4th)
Career: 2,950 yards (4th), 27 TDs (5th)

Despite a fairly mundane win as far as the offense was concerned, it still had some historic significance. Cam broke into the top 10 in rushing yards, with 2,007, next up is #9 Cornell Brockington with 2,198 (191 to go). Joe broke 3,000 career passing yards at UConn as well.

As far as paces through 5 games:
Fagnano:
2025: 2,882 yards (3rd), 17 TDs (T-10th)
Career: 4,686 yards (7th), 37 TDs (T-4th)

Bell:
2025: 101 receptions (1st),1,198 yards (2nd), 10 TDs (T-2nd)
Career: 151 receptions (9th), 2,058 yards (9th) 15 TDs (T-6th)

Edwards:
2025: 1,337 yards (3rd), 14 TDs (T-5th)
Career: 2,787 yards (5th), 26 TDs (T-5th)

I understand people have their gripes with the offense’s inconsistency this year, but do not let it detract from appreciating some historic players final seasons here.

Freeman’s 2 FGM placed him in the top 8 for a career with 28 with the next places of David DeArmas (7th, 30) and Nick Sosik (6th, 31) possible to passed in the next game.

Freeman Pace:
2025: 19/22 (6th), 88.9% (T-1st)
Career: 39/48 (T-3rd), 81.3% (1st)

Halfway! Both a great and sad milestone. Joe’s 355 yard (FBS Career High) and 4 TD day moved him into the top 5 of career TD passes, passing Bryant Shirreffs (30) and tying Rick Robustelli with 31. Next on the list would be Ken Sweitzer with 37 and 4th is as high as Joe could get with a tie for 2nd between Matt DeGennaro and Shane Stafford with 73 a piece. Freeman’s 3/3 day moved him into a tie for 6th in FGM with Nick Sosik at 31. Next up would be Tony Ciaravino (33) and Domingos Carlos (36).

Paces:
Fagnano:
2025: 3,112 yards (3rd), 22,,,@, TDs (T-4th)
Career: 4,916 yards (7th), 42 TDs (4th)

Bell:
2025: 96 receptions (2nd),1,124 yards (7th), 12 TDs (1st)
Career: 146 receptions (9th), 1,984 yards (9th) 17 TDs (5th)

Edwards:
2025: 1,274 yards (3rd), 14 TDs (T-5th)
Career: 2,724 yards (5th), 26 TDs (T-5th)

Freeman:
2025: 22/24 (T-2nd), 91.7% (1st)
Career: 42/51 (3rd), 82.4% (1st)

Enjoy the off week and get ready to beat BC

.-.
What a great day! Starting to settle in we are seeing the last couple games of some historic performers for the program, but we still have at least 5 games to enjoy them. Joe’s 362 yard (FBS Career High, 2nd week in a row) and 4 TD day moved him into the top 5 of career TD passes, passing Rick Robustelli (31), next up is Ken Sweitzer with 37. Joe is now 2 TDs away from cracking the top 10 for single season passing TDs (17) for the second time. Bell and Edwards continue to do their thing, but as great as they are these performances just help them keep pace with their previous performances! Freeman’s 1/1 day gave him sole possession of 6th in FGM passing Nick Sosik at 31, next up is Tony Ciaravino (33) for Top 5. I was tempted to add 13 game pace for a possible bowl game, but I will wait until they officially win 6 to avoid any mojo.

Paces:
Fagnano:
2025: 3,288 yards (3rd), 26 TDs (2nd)
Career: 5,092 yards (5th), 46 TDs (4th)

Bell:
2025: 99 receptions (2nd), 1,178 yards (T-3rd), 12 TDs (1st)
Career: 149 receptions (9th), 2,038 yards (9th) 17 TDs (5th)

Edwards:
2025: 1,190 yards (7th), 12 TDs (T-10th)
Career: 2,640 yards (5th), 24 TDs (T-8th)

Freeman:
2025: 21/23 (3rd), 91.30% (1st)
Career: 41/49 (3rd), 83.67% (1st)

Let’s get bowl eligible next week!

Bryun Parham is on pace to have the most sacks and TFLs in UConn's FBS history. He already has the most sacks by a Husky since 2012 when Trevardo Williams had 11.5.
Amazing how many only pay attention to the offense and ignore what the defense has done.

If I'm a P4 LB in the portal looking for an expanded role, I would give UConn a long hard look. Brock's defense demands a lot from the LB positions, and, with that, opportunities to shine.
UConn LBs combined over the last 20 games: 561 total tackles, 32 sacks, 62 TFLs, 5 INTs, 16 PDs, 5 , 4 FRs.

Skyler Bell has 66 receptions for 845 yards and 8 TDs in 8 games. Let's Go!
At this pace he'd finish with:
99 receptions and 1,268 yards and 12 TDs in 12 games
107 receptions and 1,373 yards and 13 TDs in 13 games.

Noel Thomas had 100 receptions in 2016
Mark Didio had 1,354 yards in 1991
Carl Bond had 11 TDs in 1998

.-.
3 OT losses in a season has to be some sort of NCAA record

That was a real gut punch, bowl eligibility will have to wait another week.
Joe passed Zeke Rodgers and Cornelius Benton in career passing yards, Ken Sweitzer in career passing TDs, and 2 Matt DeGennaro seasons (1988/1989) and a Shane Stafford season (1996) in single season passing TDs. Skyler passed an Alex Davis (1990) season, a Mark Didio (1989) season, and Shaun Feldeisen’s 2003 season in receptions. Cam passed Cornell Brockington in career rushing yards. Chris passed Tony Ciaravino in career FGM, while passing Teggart’s 2008 season and Puyol’s 2016 season in single season FGM. His one miss did drop his single season make percentage below Puyol in 2015, if he hits his next two, he will move back into a tie for first.

Shoutout Oumar Diomande who is T-12th nationally in solo tackles with 43 and 26th in total tackles with 76. Should be a great returner to build around next year.

What a great day, game, and most importantly win. Glad I started this back in July, the exceeding of expectations week over week has been a joy to watch.

Joe passed Matt DeGennaro (1989), Chandler Whitmer (2012), Cornelius Benton (1991), and Shane Stafford (1997) in single season passing yards with only Orlovsky blocking the top 2 spots (Joe needs 515 and 646 to move up), and passed 2 Shane Stafford seasons (1998/1997), and Dan Orlovsky (2004) in single season passing TDs. Skyler cracked the top 10 in career receptions passing WR Coach Kashif Moore, while also passing Carl Bond (1998), John Fitzsimmons (1998), and tied Reggie Eccleston (1980) in single season receiving yards. Bell also claimed sole possession of the single season receiving TD record breaking the tie with Carl Bond (1998) passing David Dunn in career receiving TDs. Cam moved into the top 10 in career rushing TDs, tying Arthur Williams. Chris passed Domingos Carlos in career FGM and passed Mark Carter (1989), Bobby Puyol (2015), and David DeArmas (1995) in single season FGM. If he hits his next 3 FG, he will move back into 2nd in single season FGM%, it will require him to hit 6 in a row to move into a tie for first. Bryun Parham is now 8th in single season sacks.

Oumar Diomande continues to shine and is T-8th nationally in solo tackles with 49 and 15th in total tackles with 90. All of the preseason praise has really come to fruition this year.

Nice to see Cam get his moment in the sun as he had not popped off like this since Ball State.

Joe has hit a soft ceiling as far as records just chasing Dan O in single season yards and TDs. Skyler moved up one spot in single season receptions passing Mark Didio (1991) and is shooting up the single season receiving yards records passing Reggie Eccleston (1980), Geremy Davis (2013), Glenn Antrum (1988), and Keith Hugger (1981) in single season receiving yards [amazing how congested single season receiving yards is from 1,075-1,180]. Bell also moved up one spot in career receiving yards passing Keith Hugger. Cam moved up one place in career rushing passing Vinny Clements and cracked the top 10 in career and single season rushing TDs passing Arthur Williams and Vinny Clements while tying Ed Long and tying Lenny King (1956). Chris passed Bobby Puyol in career FGM and pulled into a tie with his 2024 season and Matt Nuzie (2004) in single season FGM. If he hits his next 4 FG, he will move back into a tie for first in single season FGM%.
