Why? CCSU game drew 22,442 back in 2022 and anyone there saw in person a very solid CCSU fan presence that day.
The Central game was higher attended than both the Fresno St. and Liberty home games that season. And both the Syracuse and Boston College home games (who most UConn fans would consider football rivals and peers) only drew 25,000 that season.
Any attendance issues isn't the visiting team, it's UConn's problem.
Different year. That was the beginning of the upswing and excitement and interest wasn’t as high.
Quantify a very solid CCSU fan presence. Estimate how many. Why? CCSU game drew 22,442 back in 2022 and anyone there saw in person a very solid CCSU fan presence that day.

My point remains - CCSU isn't a drag on attendance in any way. UConn fans show up (or don't) on their own whims of a very fickle and spoiled fanbase.
Weather, tv, opponent - that's not excuses they make in the BigTen! 😁
Given they are closer to the stadium than we are.I'd like to think CCSU can contribute at least 5k fans.

FCS games are a drag. But a necessary pain.
Yeah, cuz that's what happens at the big time football schools that UConn would like to join. Oh wait, those places moved Labor Day weekend to earlier in August, so as not to interfere with the kickoff to football season. Beaches, boating and family reunions are for Sunday, Monday or the 4th of July.It is Labor Day Weekend, with many scheduling "end of Summer" festivities (last time going to the beach, boating, family reunion picnics).
Anything over 20k is good. Lots of families away this weekend, especially corporate people.
I beg to differ. This is the game where we get to see all the new players for the first time and learn their names, get to see whatever position battles there are, get to see new defenses, new wrinkles on offense, get to see what a mature offense looks like for the first time in 15 years this year, and a whole bunch of other stuff including if this year's team gonna be any good. We also get to practice being an informed fan/spectator. How to use those binoculars (believe me it is an art that needs relearning every year). Not to mention soaking in all the ambience, what the year's beer setup is and new beers offered, likewise for the food. I find it all highly entertaining. And new every year. Just wish it was on Thursday night even though this year isn't a problem for us personally.FCS games are a drag. But a necessary pain.

Not sure, and it doesn't really matter. How many LIU fans will be at the Swamp this weekend? Florida will draw a huge crowd for an unknown FCS opponent like Long Island who won't bring more than 100 friends and family.
Again, not if you want to be considered a Power Conference school. 😁 Last year, these schools had no problem drawing for an FCS opponent and CCSU wasn't a drag at other FBS schools:
- North Carolina vs. NC Central (45,491)
- West Virgina vs. Albany (50,073)
- Nebraska vs. Northern Iowa (86,546)
- 2021 - CCSU at Miami, Fla (44,019)
- 2017 - CCSU at Syracuse (30,273)
So with these numbers as of now, maybe they break 30k tickets distributed, 22k in seats? Pretty much on par with Merrimack
If you are aware of a website where I can put money on there not being 5500 Central fans at the game, please forward a link.30k coming off a big bowl victory
CCSU averages about 3,500 at Arute Field with a capacity of 5,500. Playing a better opponent at a better stadium just 11 miles from campus, I'd think CCSU would bring at least 5,000 to the game.
What's with all this people going away talk. Our kids went back to school yesterday, and youth soccer starts up again this week. This game is a staycation!
OK sunshine. So you don't think more blue devils fans would go see CCSU @ UConn than see CCSU vs the likes of St Francis and LIU. I certainly would if I were a CCSU student or alumnus. I don't think there will be a way to actually get a head count though. If you are aware of a website where I can put money on there not being 5500 Central fans at the game, please forward a link.
I am actually on vacation in Madison this week. Heading home night Friday night to prep for the tailgate & game Saturday. Then back to Madison for a family reunion on Sunday & Monday...30k coming off a big bowl victory
