What attendance would constitute a good showing on Saturday?

Not sure, and it doesn't really matter. How many LIU fans will be at the Swamp this weekend? Florida will draw a huge crowd for an unknown FCS opponent like Long Island who won't bring more than 100 friends and family.

Again, not if you want to be considered a Power Conference school. 😁 Last year, these schools had no problem drawing for an FCS opponent and CCSU wasn't a drag at other FBS schools:
  • North Carolina vs. NC Central (45,491)
  • West Virgina vs. Albany (50,073)
  • Nebraska vs. Northern Iowa (86,546)
  • 2021 - CCSU at Miami, Fla (44,019)
  • 2017 - CCSU at Syracuse (30,273)

With all the orange decor and branding in the dome, it's the closest they ever get to a sunny day...

Such a spectrum in college ball. Penn State will get 90,00 to 100,000 to see their team beat up Nevada by 50 tomorrow, while we'll get 20k for an in-state game. I'd rather play Yale at the Yale Bowl than Central.

there better be 40K for Air Force, senior day, vs. a service academy, always an honor to host those kids.

Same day as a big MBB game. No shot.

Noon football game. Pretty easy to do both if motivated.
One helluva excuse to put off getting ready for winter and take the whole day and evening. Is there home hockey on that evening? I don't care if it is men or women although on Saturday the women start at 2:00 so that won't work.

I really need to know what it is about the Yale Bowl that some on here are so fond of.

It's not like anything of substance happened there over the last fifty years so viewing it as historically significant is a stretch. There are no amenities, comfort level is atrocious and I believe they've reduced capacity to not much more than Rentschler field.

The only way I could see our playing there make any sense would be if Yale upgraded their program and it was their one home game in a three for one agreement. Other than that it should be a hard pass.

Saturday will be a blast. Get back together with football friends, make new friends, eat some good food, have a shot or two, root for the Huskies. Nothing like it. Friends. Food. FOOTBALL. Sunny. 70. Kickoff. Go Huskies.
Really lucky with the cool weather for game 1. That alone should bring some people out to the game.

I am actually on vacation in Madison this week. Heading home night Friday night to prep for the tailgate & game Saturday. Then back to Madison for a family reunion on Sunday & Monday...
That's the way to do it. Labor Day weekend: UConn game on Sat, reunions, boating, golf, whatever on Sun & Mon.

This will be the first in-person UConn football game for the wife and I, so that’s 2 more butts in the seats. Better late than never I suppose.

Don't let the atmosphere against CCSU keep you away once we start playing bigger games. If we are winning the Rent will be rocking again. I suspect that next season's great home slate will bring that real, "we're back" atmosphere. The energy is growing.
