What attendance would constitute a good showing on Saturday?

I’ll be watching while at the beach but I think 25k is very ambitious. I think somewhere in the 16-18k region is a win.

We reportedly sold >30K last year vs Merrimack coming off a 3-9 season and a blowout loss the week prior. It better be around that number this year, regardless if accurate to the physical attendance.

I don’t think it was a good idea to schedule this game for 2 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon on the last major summer holiday weekend. The game should’ve been scheduled for this Thursday evening at 7 PM. Unless we were playing a better named opponent and television dictated a Saturday start time, then this game should’ve been moved to Thursday evening.

It's Labor Day Weekend, and most people head for the shore on the Friday night before. Historically UConn has opened against an FCS opponent on Thursday night and gotten a decent crowd. CCSU as the opponent will be a plus for attendance, the date and time of the game a minus. Who knows, maybe 18K tickets scanned which will be reported by UConn as 25K and will include the season tix not scanned as well as other distributions. I prefer to see old Yankee Conference foes but CCSU will be a good opponent too. Apparently they are pretty good this year which will give UConn a bit of a test to prepare for Syracuse the next weekend. Can't believe the weather has turned cooler and gorgeous. Football is right around the corner. Hoping for a deminimus injury report after.

Wishful thinking.

Why? CCSU game drew 22,442 back in 2022 and anyone there saw in person a very solid CCSU fan presence that day.

The Central game was higher attended than both the Fresno St. and Liberty home games that season. And both the Syracuse and Boston College home games (who most UConn fans would consider football rivals and peers) only drew 25,000 that season.

Any attendance issues isn't the visiting team, it's UConn's problem.

I doubt The Wax has that much going on that they needed it to be at any time. UHF channels dont have that type of leverage

I would hope at least 22-25 thousand

The weather looks good right now, which I was here but I will be down south with family

And the game was televised locally IIRC. Channel 20? And true to BY standard practice there was griping about the broadcast (which we were lucky to have and which was pulled together on a moment's notice). For some reason I could not be at the Rent and enjoyed it immensely.
