Trumbull little league world series champs in '89 who beat Taiwan was all-stars from the town of Trumbull's little league. Fairfield has two little leagues. Fairfield national is all-stars from half of the town of Fairfield with kids living within those school districts. There is also a Fairfield American consisting of kids from the other districts in the town.Complete opposite for me. It's no longer rag tag groups of kids from a local area. These are well-funded year round travel teams. And you can tell these teams look and play different from 10 years ago. And let me throw in the gratuitous shot at ESPN for over commercializing it since they have so little programming the first half of August.
And my personal root cause analysis blames Taiwan Taipei which ran over everyone for a decade using a team of All-star All-stars.
