Any good festivals this summer in New England you are planning to attend? I just don't know many. Appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

A mere 8 hours away in Pittsburgh...

Peach has best line-up in the East but if it rains even 1/2 day it sucks

I like the Sweetwater Line-up better than peach this year. (it actually reminds me of last years peach line up)

Boston Calling, Firefly, Governors Ball, Newport Folk Fest, Newport Jazz and Solid Sound are a few other options besides those already mentioned

The 3 day Hartford Festival of Jazz at Bushnell Park in July is outstanding and free. Tens of thousands attend and the atmosphere is the best. Chairs, coolers, alcohol, and food are permitted plus there are many vendors selling beer/wine and a diversified menu of delicious offerings. A good spot to park is the lot across from Black Eyed Sallys and then it's an easy walk over to the park. This years festival starts Friday July 15th 7-11 pm, Saturday from noon til 11 pm and Sunday noon til 9pm. Don't be skeptical because it's in Hartford. There's never any trouble. The crowd is diversified but quality and as previously noted atmosphere is the best. Truly a jewel of Connecticut.

Here's my take on Sound on Sound, I worked operations at GOTV the entire 2nd run in Bridgeport. They are saying 35K at the festival, assume it's 17.5K per day. That's easily 25% more people than GOTV ever had on the main concert field (with the bandshell). Looking at the ticket levels (and prices), I think its going to be very crowded, unless they use another field, something the city did not let Hays & Company do, and you'll need to be VIP or above to get near the stage. Good line-up, but just my $0.02

Saw Jerry Cantrell last night. His new album Brighten (Check out Atone or Siren Song) is really good. Great setlist with plenty from AIC in addition to his solo works.

Alice in Chains also announced a tour and I believe they have a Massachusettes date for you Easterners. Probably more will be announced soon.

It's a must see rock and roll show from a band that doesn't tour all that much.

Yes. I want to see Stevie Nicks before she's done performing.
Saw Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty do a set together at Bonnaroo I think 2006. Awesome show.

Use to go to Bonnaroo every year until it got too commercial and mtv got involved

The 2 am set (every year Friday night) for umphrey McGee and the disco biscuits was always a fun time

Just looked at this years lineup and Stevie nicks is a headliner
