What’s the deal with scheduling?

I show up to work early in the AM so the 6:30 starts are actually appreciated. I’m under 40 by a few years, not sure if I’ve hit the old fart designation.

It also helps that I can leave whenever I want, so tomorrow I’ll leave a little early to grab food and drinks in Hartford before the game.

I do understand the issue for those driving a long way, especially for Gampel home games.

I’m cool with the 6:30 start. My 8yo daughter who is a huge Hawk fan gets to watch the whole game with me and get to bed after at a fairly reasonable time

I have kids who go to bed at 7, so I prefer 8 or 8:30 tips myself. It's not the end of the world if I'm not live, but it's nice to follow on Twitter while I'm watching and there's no chance of that for me if the game tips before 7:30.

Your daughter is a little genius - but then again, you already know that!!!:p

I’m in the “I love the 6:30 start time” camp.

Less wait time between work and game, plus more time after the game for my end of night beauty routine.
Who doesn’t love a nice quick happy hour before a game in Hartford!?

.-.
6:30 starts are great for us early risers. I love watching a game without dreading trying to get up in the morning. If you have to get up at 5-5:30am, watching games until close to 11pm is rough. Once the game ends, I still need another hour or so to burn off the adrenaline so I can sleep.

Does 30 minutes really matter that much? The weekend games I get (sat vs sun) but 630 to 7 can't possibly really be a deal breaker.

Bringing her up well you are

Nova had Marquette Xavier Creighton UConn all at home on a Saturday and Providence home on a Sunday. They tongue bathe that team

6:30 games are good if you’re making time to go to the game - not so good if you’re watching from home. Generally, I just miss the first 45 minutes or so.

Sunday games were one of the indignities of being in the American. Not thrilled to see them returning with such vigor.

I have no issue with the games happening during the week. It's the 630 time. Especially in Storrs
I don’t have a dog in this hunt, but I wonder how it shakes out among fan preferences. Earlier start time means that the game ends sooner and you get home earlier on a weeknight, on the other hand, early start times also mean you have to bill from work early. It would be interesting to see a poll. I wonder if the answer changes at Gampel or in Hartford.

Twitter instead of the chat room?

Yep.
I always loved post game drinks at the Federal while looking out the huge windows at the traffic on Church St. slowly work it's way to Union Place on the way to 84 West.

Boosh locked up but the bottles are still behind the bar. Can get in easy if you have a crowbar, a small amount of elbow grease, and some determination.

Why don't you just dvr the game? The ability to fast forward instant replays and 4 guys looking at a shot clock to adjust it forward or back 1 second for 7 minutes is worth it alone.

Enlighten me.
Okay! A Saturday noon game affords me the time to have some beers at the game and plan the rest of the evening around it and make the game a proper event.

Sunday Noon I’m going to be stressing more about what I need to do before the weekends over and getting my home in order for the week ahead.

I’m going to have way more fun at a Saturday game. No question.

I mean I guess. Millions of people go and/or watch football games every Sunday at noon/1pm, enjoy beverages, the whole shebang. In fact, it's the most popular sporting event in the country.

Who was at the game? On TV it sounded like no one was there and then with 5 or left you see people walking out

Why don’t you record the game and then watch them the next day?

I can rarely stay up for a late start, but if I watch a 6:30 game like last night, I never get to sleep.

You guys ever hear of a dvr? I don’t think I’ve seen a game all year live because we all work different schedules and we simply try and meet at 8:00/9:00 so we can watch the games together ( being able to fast forward through the commercials is nice too ). TMHO
