Same thoughts here. He could have been perfect for UConn.Yeah that seemed a big step down from St. John's. Suprised he didn't catch on with a Power 5 team with a chance to play meaningful minutes.
Spot on!Priority now needs to be getting a more than serviceable backup C and PG. Foul trouble and injuries happen. Look at how much we had to depend on Reibe and Malachi at times this past season.
I just keep envisioning Landrew as a Kevin Freeman type, an undersized but tough as nails PF but with more skill.Landrew is a 6'6" football player, long. Is more of a short PF than a true 3.
Hurley is going to have plenty of bench spots, so I'm guessing much of the next month is going to be him sifting through mid majors finding guys like Koroma and Millender to build some depth.
That type of lineup is unlikely to happen again, unless UM gets those guys back. Florida will have it.Michigan just won with a huge lineup and people here think we should roll in with no true power forward on the team
St. John's and Arizonia had that too and we struggled against them too. That type of lineup is unlikely to happen again, unless UM gets those guys back. Florida will have it.
And UConn would have beaten them if healthy with the same sized lineup they will be running out again this year.Michigan just won with a huge lineup and people here think we should roll in with no true power forward on the team
We didn't have Tarris against AZ.St. John's and Arizonia had that too and we struggled against them too.
We are actually smaller based on our present lineup but let's see who else we get up front to help. And UConn would have beaten them if healthy with the same sized lineup they will be running out again this year.
UConn won two national titles and played in another championship game with Alex Karaban as their PF.
St. John's still gave us serious problems upfront no mater what and Big East tourney is the post season. I know not many teams are like that but still something we could run against with some of these big money spender schools. We didn't have Tarris against AZ.
StJ's main issue was how they pressured the ball and forced TO's. Less concerned with league games.
Starting lineup. Although Reed was a little taller, I believe (I am not worried about replacing Reibe's height as he played far smaller in the few moments he was on the floor picking up fouls). We are actually smaller based on our present lineup but let's see who else we get up front to help.
Karban was longer and bigger than Nik too!Starting lineup. Although Reed was a little taller, I believe (I am not worried about replacing Reibe's height as he played far smaller in the few moments he was on the floor picking up fouls).
Karaban is bigger than Khamenia and we had a mountain in the middle for those championships. Plus long high flyers that would lock up at the 3. We have Mullins at the 3 who ideally should play shooting guard. And we lost Stew so no one off the bench with any size at the 4.And UConn would have beaten them if healthy with the same sized lineup they will be running out again this year.

Then we are doomed.Karaban is bigger than Khamenia and we had a mountain in the middle for those championships. Plus long high flyers that would lock up at the 3. We have Mullins at the 3 who ideally should play shooting guard. And we lost Stew so no one off the bench with any size at the 4.
Hines is a tick smaller, but I think we are going to find him to be a more vertical athlete than Reed. Watching some tape of him, he finishes well with both hands like Reed. The kid has tremendous upside.Starting lineup. Landrew will have to be really solid to beat out two seniors (Ball and Ross), in the starting lineup. Mullins at the 2 sounds amazing but only if our 3 is a significant upgrade over Ball and Ross. Mullins pulled it off as a freshman this year beating out Ross for a starting spot. Do you really think Landrew is on Mullins' level?Hines is a tick smaller, but I think we are going to find him to be a more vertical athlete than Reed. Watching some tape of him, he finishes well with both hands like Reed. The kid has tremendous upside.
If we go with a lineup of Silas, Mullins, Landrew, Khamenia and Hines, we are not that small at all. We'd be plus at just about every position other than Center, and Hines makes up for that with vertical.
