I believe she was commenting on the Non-Conference schedule. Compared to playing UNC-Ashville, Stetson, UAB, Florida A&M, Murray St, Belmont, yea, it's gonna seem much harder.

The conference schedule based on top teams in various conferences is just not that hard by itself. What true competition did Baylor face in the Big 12 or SC and MSSt face in the SEC over the last few years? Or Uconn in the OBE. At least with the OBE Uconn consistently played two games against ND every year and Rutgers every year when they were good. The SEC scheduling usually gives their top teams only a single game against the other top teams and doubles up against mostly cupcake opponents ('traditional rivals' based on geography/football and not basketball) and the Big12 quality after Baylor has nose dived. While the familiarity of conference opponents may make the games a little more competitive they still do not match the strong OOC schedules that some teams schedule against top teams.
The Pac12 is the only conference at the moment that has the solid top end/strong middle and mostly balanced schedule to be really tough with the ACC a fairly close second and that was not so true for the pac in the not so distant past.
