The two really aren't similar players, and the only reason ppl are comparing them is bc they are white. Amendola is a speed guy and can go deep, Welker is a fantastic route runner and slot guy.

in the regular season it will be fine, the hurry up dink and dunk offense works great in the regular season. The Pats still need a deep threat and use their running game more. The Pats offense has gotten exposed in the playoffs against physical defenses.

Amendola can't catch the deep ball? Oooooook....

Link to these supposed reports please?

I believe that line of thinking stems from a twitter post by Tom Curran which said: "Spoke to someone close to Tom Brady. Beyond enraged at contract details that netted Broncos Wes Welker. "Disgrace" "disservice" were used."

Shortly after that post he added this: "The enraged party in my previous tweet was someone close to Brady. Not Brady himself. Got no idea how he feels. But I bet I could guess."

Of course, everyone ran with the "Brady Enraged" headline because that sounds a lot more interesting than "Brady's wife/father/agent/housekeeper enraged" even if it's not accurate. By comparison, the first message was re-tweeted 2200 times, the follow up 64.

True. More athletic and taller. The Pats will be two TE every down. Gronk, Hernandez and everyone forgets Jake Ballard, the guy they stole from the brain dead Giants. If Ballard looks good, Hernandez will line up outside. He's not much different size wise than the big WR in the league.

As for Welker, latest news is that his agent said $8-9M a year minimum to the Pats. They passed and signed Amendola before Welker signed with Denver. They would have given Welker the 2 and 12, but he was looking for more from them.
