Tomorrow we'll officially receive our fifth straight NCAA tournament invite, tying the record set first in the 1950s (under Hugh Greer), and then in the mid-2000s (under Calhoun). We've never made the tourney six straight years.

Pretty amazing accomplishment from Hurley & his staff. We're clearly in the golden age of UConn basketball, with a higher ceiling & higher floor than ever before, along with better recruits and multiple players making their way into the league every single season.

Feels like people on here should be enjoying this time more than they have been!

Wow. That's a great one.

...and yet you have so many depressed boneyarders out here. this fan board truly needs a 36-hour factory reset. the shy4 I read here makes my head want to explode at times

Not to mention two national titles

I'm a happy man, we're good, we're blessed, and I learned a long time ago life has curves and bumps. Enjoy the ride people

Thank you for putting things in right perspective.

At UConn our ceiling is always a NC as it should be .
I think in the portal era which covers up recruiting failures , of which we’ve had our share . A hard working staff like Hurley’s makes it
a bit easier to to stay on top, barring injury or portal incoming failures
(We’re another impact guard away from at least repeating as BE champs which is remarkable in a rebuilding year. )
Impossible 5 years ago .
The most anazing thing to me is that because the portal is a two way street , Hurley’s and his staff ability to maintain the key kids is very indicative of a successful program . Keeping kids happy is not easy in today’s world and that’s a coaching must in contemporary college basketball.

We've ben playing with house money all year long. Threepeat is still available on our bingo cards, but as pointed out above, 23-11 and 8 seed is not bad for the worst year in the last 3. The right combo of A and B+ games(haven't seen the A yet) could really produce an amazing result. Go Huskies.

Great dose of perspective. This season always felt like it would end up around here given the talent drain the last 2 seasons. I don’t have a ton of hope for the tourney, but I think we may surprise a bit getting out of conference again.

23-10….,,why are you all assuming we lose our first round game??

This is why I've mostly stayed off these boards for the past 3 months. Folks have lost their damn minds.

This is not an all-time great UConn team, but Alex, Hass and Samson deserve nothing but love and respect. And Solo's improved, plus Liam's a lotto pick, and I've got high hopes for what Tarris & Jaylin can be next year. Maybe even Mahaney and Nowell, too.

Just really enjoying being a fan of UConn basketball this decade.

EDIT: And still praying with all my might that Alex ends up on the Celtics.

It is a great accomplishment given the state of the program when he took over, but in the portal era there really isn’t any reason we should be missing the tournament any year.

This program has given so many highs over the years - miracle runs and dominant teams. Because of this history it became very easy to believe this years team was going to follow (and theres still season to go). I’m the first to say it’s been frustrating at times (I was there in person at Seton Hall) but this is sports. I don’t know of many fan bases that wouldn’t trade in a heartbeat. Loved the fight I’ve seen recently and I hope that version shows up for the tournament.

You appear to still be pushing the, "I'm right" angle, so I'm inviting you to make the winning case that including this add-on clause represents - in any way - an improvement over keeping it to yourself

Down year for us is still a top 3 finish in the conference and a close semifinal loss in the conference tournament. We still don’t know how far this team gets in the NCAAs. I’m thankful for the guys who returned for one last attempt at history, and I’m looking forward to the talent influx this off season. We’re lucky fans.

In a game we absolutely could’ve won while Creighton played out of their minds for over half of it. And we still have game(s) to play. We can certainly make some noise.

But, next year Hurley needs to step away slightly from the pure reliance on finesse/euro style. We need some dogs who have meat on their bones and quickness to add to our skill guys. I’ve said it before, but if we had a guy like Sion James on our team this year, we’d be so much better.

i bet we're going to keep our streak of being undefeated in the sweet 16 or later alive, too.

And we’re gonna break our own record next year, and continue setting new records in the following years
