Willie Yahn continuing to be a hitting threat. Getting it done.

Freshman Willy Yahn starts a rally in the 2nd inning, scoring on a Sundberg triple. UConn now up 3-2 going into bottom of 2nd.

4-2 UConn heading into top of 4th. UConn has nine hits in the game so far, after pretty much taking the last two games off.

After giving up 2 runs in the 1st inning with the help of some shaky fielding, Tabakman has pretty much cruised through the next four innings.

Willy Yahn is looking like he could be in the starting lineup for a while. Yahn's RBI double in the 6th inning makes it 5-2 UConn.

Ruotolo comes in to strike out the final batter in the 8th. Penders has said a few times in past interviews that Ruotolo seems to lose focus sitting in the dugout waiting to go pitch multiple innings, and that he needs to work to maintain that focus from inning to inning. That's when he starts walking everyone. We'll see what happens in the 9th with Ruotolo.

Wow. Three batters for Ruotolo in the 9th, and three straight strike outs later, the game is over. UConn wins 5-3.

Another good series win on the road. Don't like the way they lost the 2nd game but I can never really complain about 2 out of 3 from a solid team on the road.

With the way Ruotolo has pitched, I have to wonder how those 2 close games against FAU would have gone had he not been suspended. One blown save and another game lost in extra innings without him. Would be nice if they were sitting at 14-7 or 15-6.

If Ruotolo was available, I'm inclined to think UConn would have won the Sunday game. It's the only game that Over has really done poorly. I really doubt Penders would have left him in there to walk the world. Having Ruotolo would have been another option to use before things were too late.

As for the extra inning loss, I'm not sure there would have changed the game. I doubt Ruotolo would have gone more than one or two innings, and UConn in that game, in that first weekend, just wasn't scoring any runs.
