Texas in a tight one with #4 UH. I've been pleasantly surprised by this team after they seemed to be fading a few weeks ago
 
Yeah Houston was up double figures, but power of the home crowd willed Texas back into it with energy on D. Just took a 6 point lead.

When we need to replace Gampel, I hope we take a lot of lessons from their new Moody Center.
 
Ugh, Houston just hit back to back to back 3's, starting with a possession where Texas couldn't get a rebound to close the possession, to immediately go back up 3. That's like a 50% win probability swing in 2 minutes.

I noticed Houston is popularizing the offensive rebound by tapping the ball back towards their own basket, especially when they are out of position to grab it with both hands. Europeans do this a lot. It has risk, but implemented correctly, with your guards ready to collect the ball on the perimeter, they will get open second looks from the 3 pt line. I think it will be something that more and more coaches will use.
 
Inadvertent contact but I'm surprised the refs didn't review it since they usually go to the monitors when a player coughs funny
 
Huge And-1 FT miss oreb for Houston, turns into a 4-point play when they were down 4. Tie game 2 minutes left.

Texas with 2 bad decisions in a row (and refs didn't call them for obvious foul on a rebound) gave Houston a shot to win it. Shead takes a really poor off the dribble contested 3. Possibly too early (but also they're a great offensive rebounding team so not super wrong to give your guys a chance to go get a tip).
 
This really feels like that 1 foul shot from Houston might be it. Neither team can score in OT.

both teams are gassed. no subs? also both teams flopping like fish but refs arent buying it.
 
Is this bad offense or good defense. It seems like both.

Texas is brutal to watch. They need a better coach.
 
Oh my goodness, wild scramble with Houston up 4 and it's called a shooting foul from behind the line -- if that had somehow gone in, Texas would have had a chance to tie. As it is, they'll need to make the first 2, miss the 3rd, and hope for a rebound or a loose ball foul.
 
Had a chance, but Houston gets the rebound, fouled with less than a second, and that will do it.

Thanks for nothing, Texas.
 
Let's not forget, Texas barely beat Louisville 81-80, so they can be Jekyll and Hyde.

I don’t like Houston but Sampson always has heady players and they took full advantage of Texas choking at the end of H2 and in OT. The last 3 minutes of Duke-Clemson was another example of smart vs dumb basketball (about the only nice thing I’ll say about Duke BB players). Everyone knows refs steal games at Cameron so take care of the damn ball so it’s not close enough to do it.
 
Villanova looks absolutely lost attacking this Marquette D.
