Week of 1/15/24 Other Games

Good Lord, Seton Hall is pouring it on St. John's. If Hurley thinks UConn, got punked by Seton Hall, which they did, what would you call what is happening to St. John's?

Watching St Louis vs Dayton. Halftime - St Louis with 4 team fouls Dayton with 2 team fouls. It is so much better than seeing both teams in the double bonus with 5 minutes left.

Obviously not the same talent level as the Big East but at least the game is WATCHABLE. So sick of watching some idiot putting his head down, driving to the basket out of control and then the dumb Big East officials awarding him with 2 free throws…
The guy driving that you reference is clearly not Tristen Newton

someone check on rick pitino, i know he's at home watching. please keep him away from cold bodies of water.

Why is the Midwest game at 6:30 and the East Coast game at 8:30, shouldn't it be the other way around?
Cincinnati and Indianapolis are both in the Eastern Time Zone so does it matter? Lol

im gonna die of a heart attack before this season ends. i cant do this for 2 more months.

Does anyone in America have 2 better losses than we do?

Seton Hall is making a statement. Very impressive. Pitino wasn’t saving St John’s tonight

It will be interesting to watch Seton Hall in the 2nd half of the season. They get Creighton at home on Saturday, but from then on they have road games against Marquette, Villanova, St. Johns, Creighton, and UConn. They deserve a ton of credit for how well they have played, but they will have to navigate the heavyweights on the road after their game on Saturday. Will be quite interesting to see how they fare.

They’ll be in the middle of the pack within a few weeks.

Villanova is no longer a heavyweight.

True, but playing them in Philly will be no easy task. Nova is physical enough to bang with Seton Hall. The will be outcoached for sure, but can give Seton Hall some issues.

Villanova is no longer a heavyweight.

Idk. They’re winning tough games
They have struggled on the road. Beat Providence tight on the night Hopkins got hurt (likely would have lost if he played the full game), beat Butler tight, and got blown out by Xavier. Playing some of the tougher teams on the road who no doubt will be fired up to play them, will certainly be interesting.

I don’t think they’ll win the conference. But top 4 is definitely in the picture

Well at least we can be sure that Seton Hall loss is going to stay Q1. Might end up Q1A.

Agreed. While it's still a bad loss for a team of UConn's caliber, the loss doesn't look as awful as it did based on how well Seton Hall has played. What works in their favor is that they are one of the 10 oldest teams in CBB. That experience and maturity has really helped them this season. Will be a big roster turnover next year for them, but they certainly are enjoying the season so far.

I said it last other games thread, but warrants another stamp: New Mexico is a fun team to root for. Jamal Mashburn's son, Eddie House's son, coached by little pitino. Add in a possible conference freshman of the year, JT Toppin, impact transfer (jr Joseph) from where - Iona. They are up by 13 early on Utah. Could be second straight top 25 win.

If you've never been to the Pit, it's an environment.
